Comments Thread For: Edwin Valero-Lamont Peterson is in The Works

According to Lem Satterfield of AOL's FanHouse, WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero (27-0, 27KOs) could move up to junior welterweight for a fight with Lamont Peterson in June or July. Peterson (27-1, 13 KOs) has only one loss on his record, which came by decision to WBO champion Timothy Bradley. Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes both fighters, is looking at putting the fight together in the summer. [Click Here To Read More]

Its a real step up for Valero to test the waters against a very solid fighter at 140 like Peterson, so if he does it he deserves alot of credit for the risk.

wow, thats actually a pretty good fight, so we can see how valero does at 140. But if Tim Bradley knocked Peterson down, then I guess Valero just knocks him out

Peterson will beat the living **** out of Valero... Please make this fight, because I'm going to be more vocal than I ever have been on NSB! Peterson by KO to the body within 8.

So Arum was just being his usual full of **** self when he threw out the notion of Valero-Bradley. What a ****in *****.

Lol. Valero calls out Bradley, Bradley responds, Valero changes his mind and fights someone that Bradley just beat.

Maybe this is down to Arum rather than Valero himself, but it's pretty ****** IMO.

I like this fight A LOT for both guys. Peterson has a chance to prove himself again and the kid can box. Valero loves to fight and does carry the pop to hurt. This fight reminds me so much of Pacquiao/Marquez. I mean fucking identical style matchups. Peterson being leagues ahead of Valero in boxing skills just as Juan was against Manny. And Valero and Manny possessed the desire and power to hurt the boxers. These guys even fight like each other. Damn good fight here IF it goes off.
