Against guys like Cotto and Margarito, Clottey's shell was effective. Margarito throws wide shots so while he would break through here and there, Clottey kept himself well protected.

Cotto throws hooks. In Clottey's shell, his elbow's pick off hooks to the body and his gloves pick off hooks to the head.

Therefore, he could afford to take a breather in his shell and not absorb too much damage.

Pacquiao throws a phenomenal straight let to the mid section. That punch will go right through Clottey's guard. He also(obviously) throws a great straight left to the head, which will again, go right through Clottey's guard.

Clottey CANNOT sit in his shell and absorb shots like that, I don't care how hard the dude is. Pacquiao has the arsenal to render Clottey's highly praised defense ineffective. It's all because Pacquiao throws straight shots. Clottey will be tagged more than he's ever been tagged. And he will also be exhausted trying to keep up with the little ****er. He will quit after being dog tired and beat up.

Just thought some actual analysis on the fight might be refreshing as opposed to people just bitching at each other.

Manny is going to overwhelm Clottey. Josh will never be able to get off. He'll only be able to land his lead right hand every once in a while. I just see it as Pac outworking him and possibly putting him away late.

Yep I called this a while back. Pac will stop him around round 10. Clottey doesnt have the stamina to keep up as a result he will be getting hit flush with bombs, his defense will suffer. His head and foot movement will be WORSE then it already is and Pac will KO him. The ref stops this **** or Clotteys corner does.

A high guard defense like Clottey's is most effective against straight punches. I think Clottey will lose because falling short is what he does but I tend to think he will look alright in defeat.

Clottey gets stopped late. His lack of workrate got exposed in the cotto fight, even tho I had him winning. And with the exposure, one also has to question if he really broke his hand in the marg fight. It may look alot like williams vs wright, but with a stoppage.

No it's not. He leaves the center of his body wide open cause his elbows are covering the sides of his body. He's wide open to body shots to the mid section and that's one of Pac's best punches and Clottey needs to take breathers. He can't do that with Pac.

Clottey will never be able to get off. I can't really see this fight being that close.

You overrate Packy's offense way too much. Cotto only got caught because he started getting careless and exchanged too much.

Clottey won't do that.

And Clottey is tougher and has a much better chin than Cotto.

I'll bet you 100k that this fight goes to the cards.

I know people think I'm crazy, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Clottey win this fight and get Packy in a lot of trouble in the process.
