One thing no one can argue with, are statistic and numbers. Floyd does the numbers and he's a pretty accurate puncher.

- vs Ricky Hatton - 850k
- vs Oscar De La Hoya - 2.4 mil
For people that say he's boring or "Nobody wants to see him fight such and such", 4.25 million people disagree!
-First things first. Let's get the excuses out of the way-
"Mayweather was being carried"
-Really? By the guys he "cherry picked"??? Please show me where Marquez has done anything close to those kind of numbers.
"People only buy Mayweather PPV's to watch him lose."
-Lose to who? The guys people said were "cherry picked , tailor made" opponents? First they say, they're cherry picked, but you pay $50 to watch him lose to his "tailor made" oppenent?
"Those are dumb casual fans who pay to see him lose"
-No. Casual fans don't know enough about Mayweather to know about his bad guy persona and to want him to lose that badly...
Note: If you're buying FMJ ppv's to watch him lose, save your money.
Face it. People like to watch Mayweather and appreciate his style. They know they are watching greatness. For those who say Mayweather contradicts himself take a look in the mirrior. Ex:
Typical Floyd hater: Mayweather is boring to watch.
Casual fan: I like his skills. He's never been beat and has dominated his opponents.
Typical Floyd hater: Bull****! I scored the first Mayweather vs Castillo for Castillo. The Oscar fight could have gone either way! Judah had him in trouble in the early rounds.
^^^ Wait so he's boring but you took the time to watch those fights. All the way back to the JLC fight? lol. AND probably watched it more than once so you could score it right!?
Bottom line: You made Mayweather the star he is today
Hatton was undefeated and on top of the 140 lb class. He just beat Tzsyu and Castillo, the guy who beat Mayweather the same way Marquez beat Pac (according to fans who re-write history).
And Marquez was Mayweather's first fight in almost two years. The whole world was curious to see it. If that fight happened two years before, no one would give a damn and that would have been a real tune-up, not a comeback fight. When Pac and Marquez fought the second time, both of them still weren't in Mayweather's level yet as far PPV numbers.
Mayweather is one the top draws ever. He deserves credit, but he didn't do it on his own like Tyson and De la Hoya.Last edited by blaze778; 02-15-2010, 03:49 PM.
