Sky hype him for obvious reasons but his stock, in terms of the general public, has actually fallen over recent times.

And correct me if i'm wrong but didn't his last couple of fights, especially the Kotelnik one, bomb? in terms of both PPV and seats.
Look at all of his t.v appearances, look at the media coverage when he wins. Just the fact that he is on ppv at such a young age and at such an early point in his career, is a testament to his popularity. He may not have sold a tonne of ppv's but he has the potential to make very good numbers in his future fights. And I'm not sure about the Kotelnik fight, but the Salita defence was a packed house.

I'm not saying he is a superstar yet, but HBO wouldn't be interested in showing his fights if they didn't think he had pulling power.

Dude I am not going to give you in attention, I have been writing since 2003, just on another website, first it was Mailbags, then it went to QA's, after that I did some videos, then I started with Columns. Once again, if you were half the boxer I was then maybe you would no what it is like, so shut the hell up, whenever your in Vegas come to the gym and we can set up some sparring, other than that, giving a ignorant person attention is not something I am accustomed to. Good job for you though, you scan the forums putting down fighters for what they do, only laying in bed at night wishing you could be them, kudos to you kid! LET ME KNOW HOW MANY CHECKS YOU CASH BY HATING

What TV appearances? a 15 second interview at a Bolton match, given that the cameras were already there?

The fact he's on PPV at such a young age is down to his promoter using him as a cash-cow and milking opportunities i.e. his job. He isn't a PPV draw like Tyson, ODLH etc. I'm not even referring to them on similar levels; Khans draw is from British marketing to an easy and open public, they don't go to SUPPORT Khan - they go to watch a boxing match with a name they know involved.

Packing out the MEN means very little given that its absolute capacity when opened up fully is only 11,000 ...

If he wasn't a big name and boxing commodity, he wouldn't be fighting on HBO. There is obviously going to be a lot of interest for him, because of his kill or be killed attitude. He has weaknesses, yes, but that is what makes him so exciting. He is one of the quickest boxers in the game, has excellent boxing skills, but is also vulnerable to the jaw. What's not to like? It all makes for exciting matchups, because while he is undoubtedly one of the most talented stars in the sport, if he gets hit he can lose a fight in a second.

Maybe Ishe, if you went to the olympics at seventeen, won a gold medal, and then went on to become a world champion, you wouldn't be a lightly regarded reality t.v figure who felt so unloved and unwanted by the company that welcomed Khan into its open arms.
I agree with you, the only problem I have with Khan is his early knockout, other than that I think he is a good fighter, he still has a lot to prove, but he is on his way. I just think Timmy and other fighters at 140 deserves the publicity more, they have fought some tough fighters and would like to see them get that same love, especially Timmy.

I would love to see Timothy Bradley get the same love, but you should know more than me that boxing doesn't work like that. Hype sells fights, and Bradley doesn't do a lot to hype his fights. He rarely makes noise about other fighters. Maybe if he rilled up a few heads, he could get the attention of HBO...a platform he should be fighting on. However he is a very level headed and reasonable person who just wants to fight the best. While those are commendable traits, they don't sell fights like calling someone a "First tier ameteur" would haha.

On another note, I hope you can get some fights, and maybe win a few big matchups. I always respect the opinion of a boxer, especially one who makes a point of answering the questions of petulant and defensive Amir Khan fanatic like myself.

Very good point regarding the inside dealings of boxing, and as much as i hate it, your absolutely right. Timothy doesnt do much to sell himself and thats bad that we all know right now he is the best fighter in 140lbs, not necessarily based on skills, but based on the guys he has fought and beaten. its a shame boxing has turned into a political and maneuvering machine, but it is what it is, i think Khan has a lot of potential, I wont feed into the frank warren stuff, he had to do what was best for him and what makes the most money, GBP is definitely a powerhouse that will bring that for him. The jury still being out is my biggest worry about him, other than that the future looks to be bright.

Maybe you should learn your facts before you start talking, getting hit is not one of my specialty's. Do you box? I have had a good career thus far, have fought on television a number of time and was on the first season of the contender, I have been pretty damn blessed in my book, so I have no complaints.
From what I have read, it looks like it's pretty damn easy to bash on a writer everybody knows. Saying you suck is just an easy way for people to get revenge over their disagreements about some topics in your article. I believe you have good opinions, but it would be nice if you didn't jump from a topic to another the way you do. You know, it needs to be more constructed and fluid... By the way, you're a good fighter. I hope I'll see you soon again in the ring. But don't you think you're too big to spar with Mosley in preparation for Mayweather ?...

Thanks, although I have been writing awhile, I still got a lot to learn and I take constructive criticism well about Shane, I sparred him and prepared him for the second de la hoya fight, so if called I would help him again.
