Green's team had been in talks for a fight with IBF champion Lucian Bute. Contrary to information reported elsewhere, I hear Green "pricing himself out" had nothing to do with the fight falling apart.
I've heard the main stumbling block had to do with Bute's mandatory Librado Andrade. The winner of Bute-Green would have had to fight Andrade next. Showtime had in interest Bute-Green but I hear the network was not interested in making a commitment to purchase the fight between Andrade and the winner. From the word going around, Bute's people are lining up Joey Spina for his next fight[/i].
As for him pulling out in 2007, I never hears that, show me an article or proofComment

Ok. But do you acknowledge that article and that it reported that Bute-Green didn't happen because Andrade was Bute's mandatory?
Or are you gonna conveniently ignore it and make up whatever suits your agenda?Last edited by Vladimir303; 02-13-2010, 06:40 PM.Comment

I think HBO's marketing and scheduling strategies are trash and ******. I know they are trying to take away from Showtime's viewers on the Super 6 nights but, I am going to be watching the Showtime tourney live and recording the HBO fights because I think the tourney is more meaningful. As much as I like Martinez, the Showtime fights are more important I think. HBO could have more viewers by having the fights the next weekend, more people have HBO anyways on the average than Showtime so I don't see what the big deal is. I think Showtime boxing is better than HBO on the whole as far as content goes, production and commentating are better on HBO but who watches boxing for those kinds of things anyways?Comment

bute has been trying to make a fight with green for a while ... and green did pull out and joppy was a late replacement for green.
in recent negitiations its has come down to money. bute wanted to fight someone in between the andrade fights butes camp reported green was pricing himself out. i consider it a duck cause bute is a draw and green has been difficult to get fights with in the past ... he never wanted to step it up before and priceing urself out is an effective way to ensure u dont get those fights ...
u kno that lacy was a replacement for green too. go figure he pulled outta the taylor fight. its what he does hes full of excuses
i have been following bute for awhile ... i remember the chain of events pretty wellComment
