I'm still waiting for that article but I gotta feeling you're not gonna find it because Green had nothing to do with Bute in 2007.

in recent negitiations its has come down to money. bute wanted to fight someone in between the andrade fights butes camp reported green was pricing himself out. i consider it a duck cause bute is a draw and green has been difficult to get fights with in the past ... he never wanted to step it up before and priceing urself out is an effective way to ensure u dont get those fights ...

u kno that lacy was a replacement for green too. go figure he pulled outta the taylor fight. its what he does hes full of excuses

i have been following bute for awhile ... i remember the chain of events pretty well

Your story just doesn't match with the FACTS. I've been following Green's career too and I just posted a boxingscene article on here, where it says that Showtime wasn't interested in buying GREEN-BUTE but was interested in ANDRADE-BUTE REMATCH, which HBO snatched from them. That played a large role in why the fight didn't happen and the fact that the IBF wanted Bute to fight Andrade, which he ended up doing.

So that's done, but if you can find a source where it says that Green didn't wanna fight Bute in 2007, then you might have something. Still watiing...

dude the way martinez was rocking a guy with an iron chin, and the way pavlik was getting rocked by Hopkins who doesn't have as much snap as Martinez right now IMO, I think Pavlik is either get stopped or get a bad beating

Bute had unfinished business with Andrade at the time the Super 6 started.

As far as Allan Green pulling out of ESPN Friday Night fight a few years ago, I remember that well. No Bute was mentioned.

Allan Green was already committed to ESPN but Andre Ward offered to fight him on HBO but he had to pull out of his ESPN fight to get it, and he rejected.

And here we are and he is about to fight Ward but for a World Title this time.

I would have to disagree with you sooner or later i think sergio trades with pavlik and when he does i think he will be hurt and stopped. sergio looked good against williams but i did notice that he got rocked on many occasions and i think that pavlik hits much harder then williams. This should be an interesting fight anyway and i plan on going.

i dont think pavlik has enough in his arsenal to do that to martinez..williams throws punches from everywhere...everywhere. Punches were coming at martinez from angles that seem not possible..these were the punches he was catching him with. pavlik throws ordinary punches. his jab jab right hand. We all seen when he cant get that smoking he has very little else to offer... I think martinez destroys him

yeah but you have to remember that pavlik also has a very good workrate and will bring the fight to martinez all night long and eventually he will catch him with that one two the question is how does martinez react to that pressure and power from the hardest hitter he has ever faced. i think that because of the hopkins fight which was out of his best weight class and also the fact that bernard is a master boxer who has made many good and great fighters look horrible many on this site are now starting to underrate pavlik and the danger he brings to any mw in the world with his power. i got pavlik by late stoppage in a great fight

What was in 2008, the no-show I just mentioned?

Well that was the one with Green and Echols and it was in 2008 as this artcle shows:

                      Allan Green Withdraws, Suspension Coming?

Posted by: Rick Reeno on 02-28-2008.

                      By Rick Reeno

The latest word going around is that Allan Green (26-1, 18KOs) has withdrawn from this Friday's bout with Antwun Echols (31-7, 27KOs). The fight was set to be a televised main event on ESPN's Friday Night Fights from the Paragon Casino & Resort in Marksville, Louisiana.

According to sources, Green never boarded his flight to the show. While neither the fighter or the promoter, Tony Holden, have officially confirmed it, I hear the no-show by Green is due to an internal rift with Holden. I hear the new promoters in town, Scott Hirsch and Mike Borao, made an offer to Green that quickly changed his mind about the Echols fight.

Echols will now face, middleweight Michael Walker (18-0, 12KOs), at a catch-weight of 165-pounds. Green, due to the rules of the Louisiana Commission, can face a suspension of six-months to one-year for the no-show, and a possible fine. The suspension can only be lifted by the promoter.
