Maybe JMM has a better option, On principle i wouldnt take the fight as well after hearing the way Richard schafer seem to be talking about Khan fighting Judah, Mayweather etc after a JMM fight.

But financially i would have gone for the fight, Its a winnable fight for JMM because he has more experience than Khan, Khan's jaw isnt the best and if JMM lands which am sure he would have if he had taken the fight then he can KO khan, JMM land on Mayweather at 147 so why not on Khan at 140???

fair point, although if the jmm fight were to unexpectedly come off, i still think it would be a brave (or astute) move on amir's part, or his backers.
should we expect a replica of khan - barrera (the great mexican warrior, not completely shot but still way past his best) , or would we see the marquez who beat casamayor and diaz, due to the fight taking place not too far north of his preferred weight class?? who knows, hence the intrigue.

Im glad this fight wont happen as Marquez is out of his depth at this weight. He really needs to go back down and quit trying to fight bigger opponents then himself. Marquez should go back down and stay there, these welters are just to big for Marquez... Khan needs to fight someone his own size and stop picking on old men.

i see where you're coming from dude, my point i guess was that aside from the mayweather fight which to be fair, wasn't really one which should've taken place due to the sheer size difference between the two, at this stage, amir khan is no mayweather, in terms of ability, experience or even size, marquez is a credible opponent and i believe this fight could go one of two ways, regardless of age, which i outlined previously. that's where the intrigue is.
of course, i'd love to see khan against a young, hungry and stiff punching challenger but marquez vs khan would put plenty of bums on seats also.

Why does every ass have to be bubble to be nice? As for the thread, I wouldn't be suprised to see Morales win a fourth title before JMM because he's got the balls to fight for it. I actually think JMM and Beristain are being really ****** for turning this fight down. I don't see anything special in Khan, but I guess JMM and his camp view it as dangerous.

Here's what I don't understand. JMM was willing to go to Juan Diaz's home town to fight him which deserves a lot of credit. And GBP wanted JMM to be a stepping stone in that fight and had the judges paid off. But JMM went with the flow and KOd his ass anyway. JMM also KOd Casamayor while the fight was wrongly scored as a draw up to that point. I guess this is why I can see where Beristain is coming from somewhat. But why fight two guys who are known for getting preferential treatment by GBP, but not Khan who probably brings more money than both of them combined? JMM would be set for life after taking this fight. Maybe he already is and he's telling Oscar to shove it. Lol.

1) jmm belongs at 135 lbs
2) GBP disrespected jmm
3) jmm doesn't want to be thrown under the bus, like he was against floyd when floyd didn't make weight....maybe he knows he wont' get the decision because of the obvious favoritism of GBP toward khan
