Floyd Mayweather Jr. has just shown Roach how to beat JM Marquez. Roach came up with two gameplans to beat JM Marquez and failed twice using his best fighter in his gym. That could be because of two reason, Pacquiao being one-dimensional and failing to execute the gameplan, or Roach being overrated when facing a fighter not completely shot.
Having said that, Mayweather just showed us how to dominate Marquez, Roach has finally realized how to get the job done. Pacquiao can't do it, in my opinion, because his reach is not enough and Marquez can counter him.
I'm sure Roach will be watching the video of FMJ vs JMM dozens of times, and will be working non-stop with Khan to try and adapt that strategy. Khan is not as good all-around as Pacquiao, but he has the reach and speed to do the same thing Mayweather has done. He wouldn't win as impressively as Floyd, he would get hit a lot more, he would look a bit sloppy at times, but I think he would get the job done.
Mayweather is the best fighter right now, and he would beat Marquez at any weight and at any time in their career, but one of the reasons he made JMM look like a complete bum is his reach advantage and speed. Khan is no where near the level of Mayweather, but the blueprint has been made and I don't think Marquez is mentally the same fighter after the humiliating loss to Mayweather to deal with those disadvantages. We all know if Khan tries to trade with JMM his glass china chin will be cracked, but lets get real here, he's going to be on his bike for 12 rounds with his arms up like Winky Wright, only throwing a jab to appear to be fighting, and his reach will allow him to do this.
It can only hurt Marquez's career to lose a decision to a 3rd rate fighter such as Khan who will get all the glory for being at the right place at the right time. Just like his garbage victory over Barrera.
That's my opinion on this. Khan should fight Maidana and Roach should stop cherry-picking leftovers taking glory for using other fighters blueprints.
