I honestly feel that we do. Im talking about the way he fights. There is no doubt that Floyd is a great salesman but I think people put too much into that. Others always say that people only pay to see Floyd lose. We talk non stop about how boring he is to watch and how fans dont want to see that.
My point is that Im not sure its true, atleast not so much anymore. I know alot of mainstream fans who really are starting to appreciate the way he fights. The Oscar fight may have dissapointed some but its like they started to retrain there thoughts on him and have accepted it. I dont think we give the fans enough credit. We assume everyone thinks Floyd is super boring and he only sells for other reason but there is no way he is the star he is now unless fans dont think he is as boring as you guys think they think he is, lol.
I know mad hood cats who only care about Tyson type KO's and all of them love the way Floyd boxes, the way he cant be hit, and so on. I think alot of people are starting to really look at him in an Ali type way. Not so much in greatness but just appreciating his pure boxing skill. This Mosley fight is going to do huge numbers and much bigger numbers than the Pac fight and you guys are insane if you think its just because he's a good hype man or people want to see him lose. People always think its one or the other but thats not the case, atleast not anymore. People always love the brutal Pac style KO's but alot of those same people can appreciate the artist of Floyd and thats one of the reasons they want to see the fight, to see the contrasting styles.
Now with that being said, I think we all wish that Floyd starts letting his hands go like he did before WW. Call me a fool but I think that in his post retirment he will start to let his hands go again for the simple fact that he has physically grown into his frame better and is now more comfortable as a WW. This fight will tell us alot about that. Alot of those same mainstream fans who appreciate or dont appreciate his style, have never seen the pre WW version of Floyd. They think this is how he always fought. Imagine if he started letting his hands go again? Then all the people who have come to appreciate his current style will think he's a certified beast when they see him actually throwing combos and being aggressive.
