However, I think Guzman's first mistake against Funeka was his new found aggression. I think Guzman wanted to shut some of his critics up about him being a boring fighter. He wanted to come out strong. The reason I say this is because anyone who has followed Guzman's career knows that he's a good slick fighter and a very good counter puncher but he didn't follow that plan with Funeka and that got him in a load of trouble.

I believe that if he fights his fight against Funeka he can win by decision. Funeka's punches (even though he has reach and height advantage) can be seen a mile away at times giving Guzman enough time to avoid his power. He cannot try that bs he tried the first time against Funeka like if he was a puncher and not a boxer.

So, if he takes the fight it should be fought on his terms and I believe without a doubt it will be a total different outcome.
I am 110% agree with you...

Funeka is a great fiscal boxer, just like DLH was on his early years. But Funeka, has a much more advantage because his weight. Also, his fisical condition bring to hin some problems, if Guzman or any slick boxer make the in-out, his movement have not answers for that. Guzman work very well on the firts 2 or 3 round, but on 3 Funeka broke his nose and on 4 receive a head impact what produce a very big cut who made the rest of figth a show of blood... ANY BOXER CAN WIN IN THAT SCENARIO.

I see Guzman pass clearly over Funeka, if he come on shape and make a good plan for this giant. Many people are confused with Funeka, he is another Fisical advantaje figther, with proor Box skills. A very good figther who can Box with speed and skills, can Broke the South African.

Funeka won the fight but he did not win all the rounds as one of the other posters stated.

As far as dropping back a weight class, either the guy does not follow boxing or does not understand the issue of making weight.

A very ignorant comment to say the least.

Can we stick to boxing and leave all the negative comments for some other forum? Now, that would be something!

Back to the subject at hand. Has anyone heard anything else about whether the rematch might move foward or not? Please post if you have anything new to add.

          Thanks.
