What is this supose to mean?? The Cotto of Today????? he lost twice. one of them to an already proven cheater. and another time to thr freak of nature , who's speed is prob too much for not that fast , presure in ur face fighters. What the **** is this thread supose to mean. Cottos chin was always suspect , he never really had the best chin. His stamina is ok. The only prolem is when he tries to outbox ppl. Not his style , not his strenght. he aint a boxer , he is a puncher. He got plenty left . Cotto over Mayweather. Is a big possibilitie, but guess what. Mayweather ducks ppl , and he doesnt engage , he picks his spots , and takes his time. Mayweather is a boxer. A polished boxer , still in his prime. Both are still in their prime. I would love to see another fighter take on the ghana freak and on the philipines freak back to back. His abilities are still there. His confidence?? maybe not as strong. But his will , determination , and relentless and fearless style is what drives him , and that is still there. Mark my words , he will make easy work of Foreman. Santos , had a chance to retain his title but he slacked off. Cotto enters the ring above 160 at times , when he weights 147 in the official weigh in.Comment

miguel cotto has never been as good as the manny pacquiao he faced. that pacquiao represents a level cotto has never breached.
when you say cotto is easy to hit, you are wrong. unless you make the addendum "for manny pacquiao"Comment

A lot of people fail to realize that Mayweather isn't in his prime either. A prime Mayweather would KO Cotto. I actually remember Cotto ducking a prime Floyd because he "wasn't ready for him yet", according to Bob Arum.
When Floyd moved up to 147, that's when I think he passed his prime. He lost a lot of speed and power and his offense decreased a lot (aside from the Judah fight, which was him best WW performance). However I still think a 147lb Mayweather would beat Cotto. In fact I think Cotto is tailor made for Mayweather. Dimension wise, Cotto is a small WW and from the distance Floyd would outbox him easily, especially because of his flat footed style. Cotto is also open for clean shots at times and tends to back up when hurt. A prime Floyd would KO him, and a 147lb Floyd would outbox him for 12 rounds. He has a solid chin, so the little amount of shots Cotto would land wouldn't be too much of a problem. The only way I'd see a Cotto victory is if he took enough early rounds, but style wise that wouldn't happen.
Final Prediction: Mayweather by 9th round TKO at 140lbs and 116-111 decision or 11th round KO at WW (depending on which Floyd shows up). I've seen fighters and styles that gave Floyd problems. Cotto has none of these qualities, shot or not.Comment

Prime Cotto has a good chance against May imo hense why he avoided him. Prime Cotto would apply constant pressure and land some big shots, floyd would have trouble and can only win via a decision it would be a long hard fight for floyd!!Comment

Everybody knows this but it's all about hating an undefeated ***** ...I'm through trying to hold back. The only blacks that get respect have had their assess beat or praise a fighters outside there race as being the best.Comment

If they fight at the weight 154 i think that cotto kills mayweather now or any day...and believe me im not a big cotto fan ...Comment

Cotto has never fought above 147 before in his life, so there's no proof of that. Even Floyd only fought at 154 once. Neither has much experience there so a fight there wouldn't mean anything regardless. Both would probably weigh in at 150 and the fight would be the same as it would be at 147. I think Cotto has more to lose by moving up if anything (if he loses any speed or power then he's screwed).Comment

that's right.
Problem with Floyd is that he waits for people to get old, washed up, and slow before he steps into the ring.Comment
