Does anyone want to discuss Edwin Valero?

Valero is a force to be reckoned with at 135lbs, could possibly do very well at 140 also. I think his power has been a little bit overrated but the man can punch and has the resume to prove it. He has a lot of flaws on his game though, I thought DeMarco would expose some of them and pull a win but my boy was never in the fight.
I think a guy like Bradley could give Valero hell at 140, even a puncher like Urango. The few good shots DeMarco got through Valero he seemed to take well so he's definitely not glass chined like many people thought.Comment

lol. JMM would get beat senseless by Valero. JMM likes to trade and go to war. He went to war and was put on ***** street by a feather fisted Diaz. Vzalero stops him Early.Comment

No way in hell does JMM KO's Valero, sure he might pick a couple of good shots but Valero is too agressive and too big of a puncher for old JMM to deal with, Valero breaks him down specially if he gets the best of JMM and starts to brawl with him.Comment

He had trouble with the handspeed not the power so much the kid was outclassed in the fight plain and simple, but that win in no way makes me think he is a future king of the division, there are many top guys from 135-140 i just dont see him beating the upper ecelon guys.Comment

DeMarco was waiting all night for the counters to be fair and in the end Valero's offense served as his defense. DeMarco was generally too busy covering up and absorbing damage to take advantage of the counter opportunities presented. A better boxer may be more able to exploit them but Valero isn't the finished article yet either.
Marquez would beat him at this point, I agree. But like I said, Valero isn't a finished product yet, he still has technical flaws to iron out and dues to pay before he's quite ready for someone of Marquez's class.
I liked his upperbody movement and reflexes also though. He seemed at times to have that instinct a lot of the topmost boxers have where he can predict when his opponents gonna throw before they have even decided to themselves.Comment
