    hmm

There is nothing in the fight that suggests to me that Corrales could outbox Castillo. Everytime he started stepping back and jabbing Castillo would start jabbing as well and landing his as well. Corrales can not outbox Castillo.
Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner. Anyone who thinks Corrales can outbox Castillo for 12 rounds needs to watch the times when Corrales DID try to outbox him.

Corrales won fairly in my opinion, but it could have JUST as easily been him losing.

it wasnt 28 secs it was 20 and half that time was weeks takign a point away, u gotta blame him just as much as corrales if weeks would just puller him to the conor after he got up and poppe dthat mouthpeice in the fight coulda been started again earlier. JLC was dead on the ropes he should be thanking weeks for saving some of his career, u cant take shots from a big man like that wihtout getting hard, and hey JLC stil lhasnt been down yet.

I think Castillo definately deserves a rematch. He earned by his performance that night. Yes, Corrales won the fight..true..but im thinking that he feels he cant take another beating like that. And he did..take a beating..as did Castillo...i just wanna see these two guys in the ring again..so they can put on another fantastic fight.

This was the best fight I've ever seen but I'm in the minority probably that thinks these 2 shouldn't fight again. These 2 guys are the hardest punchers in their division & probably have the most heart of any boxer. Their pride & being stubborn will get them hurt in the ring, especially against each other. As it is, neither fighter might not be the same after this fight. As much as I'm a fan & would love to see them brawl again, a part of me wishes that these 2 don't fight again for their own health's sake.

I understand the "they should never fight again" point of view on some level, specifically the reasoning that there's no way to top the first fight and they both took so much punishment, etc., but like everyone knows, money talks.

HBO could get greedy enough to throw alot of $$$ at Gary Shaw and co. and get Corrales-Castillo II on PPV either by the end of this year or next spring, if Corrales takes a fight in between ("soft" defense, although I can't see anything being soft after that fight). This would be HBO's way to "top" Showtime by getting the sequel and PPV revenue as a way to capitalize on the first fight. If I were Jay Larkin I would do my best to get it done on my network or block it from happening at all...I wonder if he could refuse HBO the rights to highlights if they indeed "steal" the rematch and put it on PPV.

              Thoughts?

When I saw this fight, my immediate thoughts were that these two should never step into the ring together again. Fights like this one seriously **** you up, and should be a once-in-a-career performance. Corrales won, Castillo lost, boo-hoo, get over it. Another fight between these two could put an end to the career of either (or both), and I'm not the least bit interested in seeing either one of these warriors sitting in a chair with permanent brain damage, or in a casket.

You guys calling for an immediate rematch need to think how you'd feel if it was your brother, son, etc. you were wanting to see in an immediate rematch after a fight like this.

IMO he is just doing a barrera... what i mean is, savor the championship while they are still yours and keep away from people you know can beat you... not very brave if we come to think of it, but smart...

The difference between Corrales and Barrera, if I get your insinuation correct, is that Corrales has won his tough fights lately, and Barrera lost big to Pac and has since avoided a rematch. Castillo would be "pulling a Barrera" by your standards if he waited for Corrales to leave the division and then snatched the vacant belts while avoiding a rematch.

you got it wrong bro, i am not talking about castillo making a move ala-barrera... im talking about corrales doing some less damaging fights to enjoy his belts... after MAB got the title from erik, he does not really have plans on engaging with manny because manny gave him his worst beating... same with corrales, he isn't going to give castillo an immediate rematch because castillo beat him badly, and he felt it... going against him on his next fight is like giving castillo his belts back... he was lucky he won that fight... so i think he is going to do "a barrera" to make some more money and make his record better...
