Corrales is naming Zoo and Morales as potential future opponents...both are mismatches.

    Zoo would murder Corrales

    Corrales would murder Morales

    Castillo vs. Corrales...u pickem

What fight would you rather see?

Castillo deseves a rematch. If Castillo was so badly hurt then why is it Corrales' team the ones saying that they don't wan't an emediate rematch with Castillo because they don't want Corrales to get hurt.
Castillo is the true winner if Corrales didn't get all that ****in time to rest Castillo would have won by KO. Corrales doesn't want to give Castillo a rematch because he knows that he can't beat Castillo.

          Some thoughts about all this:

--I like Chico's honosty about saying his promoters make the decisions about who he fights. He is not just gonna say the rematch will be there for Castillo and not deliver and he is not just going to say no, as ultimately he gets alot of advice on what matches to take.

--As a fan, and a Chico fan, I think the best fight out there is Castillo/Corrales II. However, Chico and his promoters are gonna go where the money is, and that is not always where the hardcore fans are. I think the most likely event is a tune-up bout and then Corrales vs Morales sometime at the end of this year or early next year.

--Castillo talks about how he wish the ref had let him take a knee, but the bottom line is that at that moment Castillo was in another universe and if that fights goes on he continues to get blasted on the ropes for a few seconds because he did not have enough wits about him to take a knee. It probably could have gone on for a few more seconds and there would have been less grumbling about the stoppage, but Weeks did the brave thing and stopped it before Castillo was seriously hurt. For the first time in the fight his hands were at his sides, his head was over the ropes and he was taking unanswered power shots to the face, I think alot of Castillo fans are glad the referee stopped it when he did and did not allow Castillo to get hurt more.

--It is ludacris if anybody thinks Diego is scared of a rematch, this guys last four fights are Casamayor, Casamayor, Freitas, and Castillo. You would be hard pressed to find a better body of recent work in boxing, Chico doesnt back down from challenges. But this is also a bussiness and he has to go where the money is, and the PPV coin that a Morales/Corrales fight would generate is insane. (assuming that Morales does not opt for Pacquiao or Barrera first)

--I think that a PPV between Chico and Mayweather would generate HUGE money if Mayweather gets past Gatti. Both guys would be about as hot as you can get in this sport and I think a fight between them would generate alot of casual interest, whereas before it might not have appealed to the casual boxing fan. Don't be too suprised if this happens despite the beating that Chico took the first time they fought.

Corrales is good for not giving rematches after winning a fight. I'm still waiting for the Casamayor rubbermatch.

That's not true at all. Diego went through hell with only one of those fighters, and that was Castillo. They both went through hell, and it would NOT be ludacris to suggest that iego is somewhat scared of a rematch.

In the fight with Casamayor, Chico's lip almost fell off-- that was no walk in the park. He then fights the same guy again, who many thought to be the best Jr. Lightweight in the world. After that guy he goes and fights the undefeated lightweight who beat Joel. Yet another fight which is no walk in the park. Then in his very next fight he goes and fights the guy who is considered to be the best lightweight in world. Yeah, Chico has a real reputation for avoiding the tough fights, what was I thinking? All I am saying is that if he does not fight Castillo again it will be a monetary decision, and if that is the case it is not like he is going to be getting in the ring with some nobody type guys- it will be against another one of the top pound for pound guys in the sport. That is what he does.

Castillo and Corrales both had a great run going into the fight not just Corrales.

                    hmm

The fact that no fighter has given Diego the hell that Castillo gave still stands. Again, to suggest that Diego is somewhat scared and hesitant about a rematch is not ludacris.

Corrales doesn't want a rematch because he knows he won't be as fortunate as he was on Saturday and he doesn't want to go back to hell.
