How far has Mexican boxing fallen?

That's one thing for sure bro, Mexicans and Ricans have always produced champions. Mexico is a little bit on the downside (on p4p superstars) but i'm sure we'll get back up in a few years.Comment

Nothing is as bad as the American Heavyweight crop
The ghost was born in America so I consider him American. Talking straight up Mexican guys.Comment

I'm a Mexican-American and I definitely agree with the T/S!!
I mean we just don't have a special fighter that can compete with the best out there.I mean now every time a Mexican boxer fights a big fight I actually feel like 80% sure he will lose.It really sucks because we love this sport so much!!!
Pinoys have Pac, the Brits have a few real elite fighters like Haye & Khan, African-Americans have Mayweather, Cubans have Yuri and Rigo, Ukranians have the Klitshckos, Japan has Hasegawa, Puerto Ricans have Juanma, Armenians have Vic and Abrham.....I mean these are real elite special fighters a the top of their divisions!!!
Mexicans do not have that and you guys do, you should feel lucky and proud!!
Every big fight for the last 2 years that Mexicans have been involved in, they have lost!!!I think it's time for them to change their Boxing style and mentality or they will not be able to keep up with the modern more athletic Boxers!!
And I really don't see anything special in Alvarez TBH....the ones that I do see potential in are Mares, Alonso Lopez, Benavidez JR and Ortiz. And I mean they show the skills that they need to compete with this new breed of Boxers...they are the only ones that I really believe can save Mexican Boxing!!!Last edited by -ELO-; 02-07-2010, 07:46 PM.Comment

mexican boxing is in good hands
Benavides at 140, Frankie Gomez when he turns pro, and a ton of other fighters will put them back on the map. One thing I will say is that the Dominican republic will have some nice stars also because they got some real good ameatures.Comment
