I didn't know that Valero could actually box. I thought he was just a punching machine but after the schooling he gave DeMarco he made a fan out of me. He made DeMarcos miss so much it was starting to get funny.

great performance! Battled adversity after the elbow,threw powerful combinations & was relentless...I don't like open scoring because I think after they read the scores in the 8th demarco looked like he gave up.he was clearly losing but I'm curious to know if the open scoring discouraged him that much more than it would have if it wasn't open scoring.

I hope not. I'd like him to clear out Lightweight first. To me, that's what great champions do. Money is ruining boxing as a sport. We need more fighters to put legacy in front of short term money. Those who do so will make more money in the long term in any case, because they'll have more respect from fans.

And lol at the mention of Khan. GPB and Roach won't let Khan go anywhere near Valero!

I would also like to see him clean out the division and take on some of the other top rated fighters in the Lightweight division.

Valero showed he is more than just a ****er with fast hands last night. His defense and footwork were much better than advertised. He also showed true mettle by continuing to work his gameplan and not be distracted when he suffered cuts to the cheek, eye and the forehead (elbow).

Even though I know Hugo Chavez is an enemy of the U.S. and Valero is a representative of him, I am not gonna keep overseas issues from becoming a fan of this guy. Valero is a frigging bad ass. No wonder Doug Fischer calls him his son. Lol.
