JMM was/is a great fighter at the those weights in which he fought Manny. Also I think Pac has improved since then, in terms of his footwork, which was quite good before but has gotten better since.

im sick of pac facing non elite guys or guys no longer in their prime, off topic.he needs to stop fighting clotteys and cottos and hattons and face mayweather or mosley.you can say pac is breaking all these barriers but look against who?hes improved, but lets put him in a real test with someone thats an elite in their prime like himself, im not a fan of lamb to the slaughter fights, one or two is fine but 4 or 5 is ridiculous. mosely vs mayweather is a fight a real fight.

Are you sick of Mayweather doing the same thing since 2005? Pac/Clottey isn't a bad fight. Mayweather/Mosley is obviously a better fight for many reasons, but don't pretend that before this Mayweather was staging "competitive" matchups, he was fighting in "event/money" matchups.

I don't see any improvements to be honest. I think hes just not fighting right handed counter punchers.

pac is an animal hes the real deal ,wether he beats these guys is tough to say, hes improved his jab right hand thats why these dudes cant see that left hand coming theyre too busy with a jab now, there is no question pac belongs in there i just want to see him step up 2 fights ago hes proved hes an elite welter since oscar.

haha..don't be sick of it, live with it..what would the "excuse" if mosley lose? he's not in his prime anymore. i will not be making excuses for mosley (if he lose), as i don't see pac beating "old, past his prime" fighters.

i agree with this post 100% also i read lots of articles on how roach is teaching manny how to use his right hand. he will need both hands to have a chance vs floyd or any boxer with good foot speed and lateral movement

As fans we just want the best matchups possible, regardless of the money involved. There are a few issues involved with staging competitive matchups. On one hand fighters at the top level are now earning more than they ever had in prior eras, by virtue of that they now hold more power to negotiate themselves out of fights by demanding more and more in the contract.

A lot of this culminated with ODLH and his relationship with HBO, which served as a real disservice to the sport, it allowed HBO to act as a pseudo-promoter rather than function strictly as a network.

Either way I agree with you...I'd like to see more and more competitive matchups. Take Pavlik as an example, prior to the last few years he would have fought anyone and everyone. He was viewed as the next face of boxing, down to earth and humble/relatable. He gets a few wins under his belt next thing you know, it becomes difficult to make competitive matchups with the guy, why wasn't it difficult before? MONEY and too much control.

pac has his own set of finely honed tools there are many many fighters that you can say the same things about like mosleys ability to ko dudes with granite chins or mayweathers ability to rarley get hit or alis handspeed. manny did not invent punches or the left hand stance, hes at the top of his game rt now the way many greats in the past and present have been.plenty of akward guys out there like mayorga, margarito,.naseem hamed threw punches from a lot wierder angles than pac does and the dude was 5ft3!!!duran had uncanny power winky had defense like a fort. uncanny and strange is nothing new in boxing,in fact thats almost what makes boxing.
