Bernard fought Allen only 6 months after the first NC-fight at 159 (just as the first fight). FACT

He dropped Allen twice (2nd and 6th round) and completely destroyed Allen before the fight was stopped in the 7th... FACT

I'm not even going to mention their 3rd bout cause Hopkins owned him again...

Is he avoiding him or looking for bigger paydays?

The problem I think is Dawson has about 14 fans and his last three fights hasn't even generated a combined total of 5,000 tickets.

A Dawson fight is about legacy, not about money. Who else is Hopkins going to fight at this stage in his career? He is not going to fight Green, Ademek or Haye.

I would imagine he beats Jones, and then as he has stated he wants to move up to heavyweight to challenge for a world title. Haye will be the target and unfortunately if this happens Bernard will suffer his first knockout bad!!

Hopkins told us his three fight plan was - tune up, roy jones rematch and then david haye/ruiz (who both happen to be golden boy now).

So far he's on path to finish two of those things.

Hopkins will never move to HW, after Jones he will fight a SMW like Bute.

Kind of premature to make that statement.

We'll see what he does. But if he retires after Roy for example, 5, 10, 20 years later... will people really say he ducked dawson? or will they say a 45 year old man was just finishing out his career with one or two money fights?
