It's too bad we got robbed of some Foreman/Holmes matchups, but I guess without the 10 year break he never would've fought till he was almost 50.
during the grimsley fight in japan, sean o'grady talked about holmes coming out of retirement for a tuneup fight that would lead to a fight with foreman.it never happened.holmes fought butterbean instead.

He didn't say James Page was P4P #1. He said that Page was a hell of a contender, and the guys ranked so highly on the P4P list needed to get in with someone dangerous like Page, or they weren't showing that they were P4P material.

I originally thought that is what he meant by that too... I started a thread named something to the effect of Foreman hitting the crack pipe.

You may be right. Either way it was a silly statement, the same as saying that Pacquiao or Mayweather would have to go through Berto or some other title holder in order to be called pound for pound.

Basically I think people should take Foreman's word with a grain of salt. He says a lot of things but I'm not sure if he actually means them, or he says them in the heat of the moment and thinks later.

Yeah, it didn't make a TON of sense. But he was knocking people out Julian Jackson style at the time, which got a lot of people excited. It's easier to write page off after we saw that a terrible fighter in Six Heads ended his reign, but I do think he was considered a legitimate threat to the P4P welters at the time.

A quarter of himself and winning a belt in the 90's tells you about the competition during that decade. Foreman is awesome in his prime.

I disagree.he beat Frazier & norton & lost to Ali but he never fought Tyson, bowe or lennox.foreman was pretty damn good in his comeback.the guys in the late 80's & 90's were bigger & better.I'd take lewis',Tyson,Holyfield, bowe anyday over Ali,Frazier, norton.

it's funny you say that...if Harrison wins the European title in April & haye beats ruiz we may see haye vs audley in London in the summer.they have bad blood from a few years back.haye said he was open to it...could happen mainly for haye to get another decent payday before a valuev rematch or fights with either klitschko
