Adamek TRIED to get a televised fight with Glen Johnson last spring (after the Banks fight), but HBO, Showtime and ESPN turned it down. Adamek ended up fighting Gunn only because HBO, Showtime and ESPN didn't want him on TV.

You see, a better opponent than Gunn would want to be paid more, and in order to be paid more, the fight would need to be televised.

Fighters usually don't make much money for non-televised events, even though Adamek does a bit better because he usually sells out the 10000 seat Prudential Center.

HBO, Versus, ESPN and Showtime also turned down a Cunningham-Adamek rematch.

Unless you're with GBP or Al Haymon you will not be the A-side on an HBO telecast. Look at all the dates since a while back and the ones coming up, it's all too clear.

If Showtime is already showing Valero-DeMarco, they wouldn't spend extra to show a split site card for what's supposed to be Adamek in a measuring stick caliber fight. Rarely does ESPN show a Saturday fight.

Denying those fights were plain ****** on the part of the networks, but here are what were supposedly the reasons.

HBO (See reason in above post)

Showtime - Didn't have enough money or a date to accommodate with most of their money being tied up negotiating for that Super 6.

ESPN - Doubt it. If they turned it down it's because they didn't have enough money since they have a low budget and those fights were too much. Look around for the type of purses these guys get for an FNF main event. Glen Johnson said he was getting only 12000 for his Yusef Mack fight.

For someone with only 18 fight Estrada has fought very good comp. He may not be exciting but he is skilled, fast and will be a good opponent for Adamak to start working his way up the heavyweight ladder. I'll be rooting for Estrada to pull the upset and do Providence proud. I wouldn't bet on him but.......

And yeah, it sucks this fight won't be televised. Adamak is one of my favorite fighters to watch at the moment. Kid is just flat out tough.

Because the owners of HBO , ESPN , Showtime are ***s and ***s don't want to see white people succeed.

Was that the answer you were looking for? How many points did I win?

Because he is fighting a no namer. If he fights someone HBO has invested in they would put him on the network. It's that simple.

Since Tomasz Adamek is an exciting fighter, I can't help but wonder why his fight with Estrada isn't being picked up by Showtime, HBO, ESPN, or Versus.

HBO and Showtime refused to show Adamek-Johnson when it was proposed last spring, and they were not interested in Adamek-Cunningham II, even though the first fight was a very exciting one.

There have been some mediocre fight cards shown, especially by ESPN and on Shobox. Wouldn't an Adamek fight give them better ratings?
maybe there not interested in it ...im interested in watching it...shame its not on HBO

Funny how you singled those 3 guys out. You dont think it has anything to do with him being dominated by little Chad Dawson?

Why would the Dawson fight have anything to do with anything?

He's whipped a lot of guys before and after and was in very exciting fights.

There's never a dull one with him.
