Why is Adamek-Estrada not being televised?

I read today that the Prudential Center is virtually sold out for Adamek-Estrada.

Since Tomasz Adamek is an exciting fighter, I can't help but wonder why his fight with Estrada isn't being picked up by Showtime, HBO, ESPN, or Versus.

HBO and Showtime refused to show Adamek-Johnson when it was proposed last spring, and they were not interested in Adamek-Cunningham II, even though the first fight was a very exciting one.

There have been some mediocre fight cards shown, especially by ESPN and on Shobox. Wouldn't an Adamek fight give them better ratings?

Agreed. It's absurd. HBO should have picked this fight up.

It really is a damn shame and Adamek brings in good ratings because of the large Polish population in the U.S.

He sells out arenas on the east coast and Chicago.

It makes no sense at all to me.

Cuz they're ****ing idiots. How do they expect the average fan to give a **** about their proposed matchup vs Arreola if they haven't seen Adamek on HBO in what, 4 yrs?

They can show a full arena too instead of dimming the lights and papering the seats.

HBO's Greenburg and his decision-making counterparts at Showtime (Hershman) and ESPN (Bodenheimer) seem to have something against Tomasz Adamek.

HBO's budget is slashed, and ESPN doesn't pay **** for fights (Johnson-Mack is kind of a miracle). Showtime is doing DeMarco-Valero so that part is ok.

That's the only explanation because Adamek is always in good fights and has a fan base.

I just wonder if a Thursday or Friday on Versus would be better or a couple of weeks later would've done the trick because not a ton is coming up,

though I haven't seen that Versus has done much lately- and I don't know how much money they have.

                Good point.

I was at the Williams-Wright fight where they had to do that.

HBO's Greenburg seems to have lots of money to show other fighters, like "grab the opponent's arm and hold" Andre Berto.

Adamek would give them higher ratings.

He would and only an idiot would think Berto was more exciting than Adamek.

Adamek proves it every time out, and always goes to war, and he's not picky about who he fights.
