Floyd's advisers and GBP negotiated the whole contract. The lawyers just double checked everything is correct so the contract holds up.

Arum never made Floyd a contract offer to fight Manny with a 14 day cut off. Why would he sign a contract for 30-24 days cut off, when Roach asked for 5 days and Floyd gave him 14 days?
Richard's venting his frustration in media says it all. It's a sign of Floyd's hemming and hawing over fighting Shane. But I believe the pressure was really great on Floyd from both media and the fans (if you have been reading the comments on the web), that he really has no other recourse than sign the contract. Otherwise, his reputation will be forever tarnished and would give him less leverage on a future Pac fight.

Do you really think he cares what people think about him? His reputation took a hit a few years ago when Arum said he was ducking certain boxers. He was the one who started the whole ducking bull****.

Richard was frustrated because he wanted to start promoting the fight during the Superbowl weekend and he was afraid Floyd was going to mess up his plans for promoting the fight.
