would have loved to see jmm/bradley..but khan is with golden boy as is jmm and obviously more money with khan, easier fight for khan and a lot of money for jmm, which at this point in his career is what he's looking for, after many years in the sport,he deserves big money fights,if he were to beat khan, hopefully they can fight bradley or go back down to lightweight,i still think 140 is too much for him,he's barely a lightweight

Can I ask a dumb question?

We all know that JMM hadn't fulyl settled into LW before he jumped up to fight Floyd at Welter (well, almost). Here he looked sluggish, tentative and unable to pull the trigger - however a lot of this was not helped by the fact he was fighting a bigger, stronger, faster man.

So we all agree the lower JMM goes now, the better he will do (within reason), so even fighting at 140 will be better, no matter who the opponent is.

        Now, my question:

If he fights Khan at 140, he can come in at 135.5lbs can't he? So why doesn't he just weigh in at 135.5lbs, on a full stomach and with his shoes/trousers still on etc.

i know he will be giving weight away but I can't see this being a battle of clinching and muscle, so surely JMM would be better coming in low, to make use of his speed, power and agility?

Or am I missing something here?

marquez is great and all but he's a little long in the tooth to be fighting above his natural weight and against a younger faster boxer like khan. he was getting rocked by diaz, and diaz isn't exactly a heavy hitter. i can see a khan UD or KO. i also don't see how marquez and judah leads to mayweather. then again, i wouldn't put it past mayweather to take another easy fight/tuneup by making a smaller guy jump up in weight.

i'm actually pretty interested in seeing judah at 140 again. would love to see him mix it up with alexander, bradley or maidana. bradley's getting passed up like nobodys business right now. i guess khan would rather be a money fighter than a champion. bradley is at the skill level of the elites IMO, but he just needs that one big fight to bring him into the public eye more.

Why is everybody getting on Khan's case about this fight? JMM is cherry picking too up to a certain extent when Bradley is the better and more meaningful champion than Amir. Khan's loss to Prescott is something that he has had to get over and JMM probably views him as a weak link too. So it works both ways. I hope JMM beats him. But people need to quit using double standards. Khan isn't making JMM's decision for him to campaign at 140.

I am aware that JMM is FHOF. However if JMM wins a fourth belt in a different division, he will be the first Mexican to achieve that milestone. That will indeed cement his postion among the great Mexican fighters.

I don't understand the order of this. Shouldn't it go Zab then Marquez and lastly Mayweather? If you beat Marquez there is no reason to fight Zab. TBH, I don't even consider Zab a name because he hasn't done anything in such a long time.

                    Do I detect hate brother.

Following your reasoning, Pacquiao should have fought one of the top rated belt holders at Lightweight instead of the lowest rated Lightweight belt holder in D Diaz. Especially after winning a controversial fight by one point in which he was the challenger going into the fight and not the champion.

I mean, I know JMM's track record but, he looked slow as hell at 142 regardles he was fighting Floyd or not. Khan is just as fast if not faster with his hand and feet than Floyd. He doesnt have the counterpunching, but he have the workrate and movement to stay away from JMM. Dude is 5' 10" with a huge reach advantage over JMM. Plus the style contrast would be the same as Mayether. JMM will wait for Khan to commit or throw and Khan will just potshot him once or twice per round and win the fight like that. Without taking risks

I think this is a well picked fight for Khan, so he doesnt look bad ducking Maidana. He fights a well known and respected guy, who people will think would beat him. But in reality JMM has no bussines fighting above 130-135
                      LMAO. Comparing Khan to Mayweather.

One word, "Defense". Khan might be fast but How good is Khan's defense?
