[QUOTE=!! Shawn;7394031]The reasons are obvious, and typical Mayweather. Shane has shown obvious signs of diminished ability in his last few fights, and is ripe for the picking.

I stopped reading after this. Mosley looked better than he ever has in his last fight which makes this fight as attractive as it is. He has a title and after Pacquiao this is the fight that makes the most sense. If you were a true boxing fan instead of somebody hell bent on being right or pushing your agenda you would see that. I can recall clearly that you said Mayweather would never fight Shane Mosley. And this was recent. Now that he is you have to find an excuse for being wrong like many on this forum without any shame for lack of integrity. Mosley was the fighter you claimed Mayweather was afraid to fight. Now that he's fighting him, Mosley is old and shot. Yeah....OK

The fight just makes since think about it. he wanted to cash in on pac but couldn't insure that he'd be clean and now he's boxed manny in even further if he signs the contract which will happen because he's already begun promoting it with his comments on th radio. IMO this win over mosley would be greater than any manny win even MAB as both he and mosley are/were older but mosley is bigger stronger, faster and coming off a good win. This should make him P4P and give him the edge on the more meaningful belts, and it is pretty much assured to bring in more than pac cotto or pac clottey which to me equates to atleast a majority of the purse or if not a garauntee pac takes the tests as all roads will lead to floyd with the biggest draw and the biggest belt unless pac goes for berto for much less money. First he took marquez off the table now mosley... not that he needed to take mosley off it's clear manny wanted no part of him. This is just what makes since if I were his camp

        Pretty easy actually.

The pac fight didn't come off... Berto pulled out of the Mosley fight... and Mosley was a better fight than Paulie, Nate Campbell or Kermit Cintron... in both money, and the fight itself.

        I figured this was obvious?

IMO, Floyd was forced to take this fight. His rep and negotiation power in future fights would not be in his favor.
The thing I dont understand is why Floyd's fans keep saying he chose Mosely, if he really wanted that he would have accepted Mosely's challenge after the JMM fight- Pac was already set to fight Cotto. Mosely is the WW champ anyway, Pac's first WW was Cotto (if you dont count DLH).

I think he was playing it safe to try to make a fight with pacquiao, and do you remember some of the people who criticized floyd for returning on the day of pac hatton instead of waiting till after the fight was done?

floyd got no other option but to fight sugar in order to prove that he's the best at ww division. he hopes that sugar is already fading because of his age, but still, it remains to be seen. i consider shane as a dangerous opponent with a very high percentage of pulling an upset.

as a boxing fan, 'am very happy that this fight is about to happen ...
oh, by the way, is the fight officially signed by both parties?

Thats true, Floyd was gunning for a Pac fight(=$s). I am pretty excited for a SSM vs MayJr match-up. With Naazim in Mosely's corner hopefully they have a solid gameplan!
Either way Jr is going to have to bring his A-game.

He got backed into this fight. The best fight money wise fell through and this was the next best one. If he did not take this fight, he would have been ridiculed as being afraid of fighting the best WW's out there so he had little choice as there were no better fights to take.

I think its exactly what he said. The next biggest money making fight besides Pac.
