lol shane himself said it: " floyd is forced into this fight".
    don't be butt hurt.

The funny thing about this whole thing is, if he decided not to fight Mosley, you would claim that he is ducking him, now the fight has a high possiblity of happening, hes picking on washed up fighters. The guy can't win, at all... not in your eyes and in a lot of guys on this forum anyway.

After Miguel Cotto got beat like that against Pacquiao thats a no, and he needs to have some rest. Why hasn't any of these other guys fought Williams either then? Cotto hasn't, Manny hasn't, Mosley hasn't... so why just put it on Floyd?

Manny fighting Paul Williams is a much bigger fight than Manny fighting Clottey. But I forgot, that isn't the way it works around here, around here double standards is the way forward.

Once again, you constantly talk **** about Floyd, if the fight doesn't happen you will say Floyd is a ***** and needs to man up and step up to competition, when he actually steps up and plans to fight him, your just saying "Well he was pressed into it", Mosley would say that about Floyd... hes about to fight him, and it isn't like they have been best pals over the past year.

True, but we don't know what this rematch clause means... it might mean that if the fight is close then the rematch clause is in order. For example if its an SD and its obvious the fight was close, then a rematch is a good idea.

We don't know anything about this rematch clause yet, all we know is that there is one, we don't even know who asked for it.

Don't be butthurt that you have to give Floyd credit, if he fought anybody else you would say he was ducking Shane and being a *****, now there is a high possibility of fighting him your just trying to find ways to discredit him.

Shane isn't exactly going to praise Floyd loads, over the past year they haven't gotten on at all, Mosley has been talking **** about him nonstop, what did you expect? Oh and newsflash, he will be fighting him in 4 months... so he isn't exactly going to be looking at him like hes a saint.

It's all about being the top dog and money. The pac fight would have been bigger so that was Floyds interest. But a win over Mosley makes Floyd #1 again, makes him the top dog. Pretty simple.

Wrong. Theres a big possiblity that SSM will lose this fight.
          Mosley is too OLD now.
Mosley's last fight is against a mentally-troubled Margarito.

The real answer is, Mosley was Mayweather's 2nd option and thats all there is to it.

This is the fight to save his legacy so everybody can stfu about him ducking people. That win could erase the memories of Cotto and Margarito being ducked in 2007-8.

cuz he knew fight fans cant take any more ducking and wont accept matt hatton or any or any other bum as next opponent unless he wants to be the laughing stock in the entire boxng world so yeah, he was left with no other choice but ssm.

Floyd dont want this fight, Floyd was pushed to fight Mosley to cover-up his ducking for Pacquiao.

Floyd wants to prove his willingness to fight True WW Fighters.

Floyd has a better chance to win over Mosley rather than with Pacquiao.

All = Floyd fighting Mosley on May 1

                  thanks for your pointless thread.

The reasons are obvious, and typical Mayweather. Shane has shown obvious signs of diminished ability in his last few fights, and is ripe for the picking.

Floyd never intended to fight Pac, he was just obligated to go through negotiations since the whole pretext of his comeback was for a fight with pac.

If after pacs win over Cotto Floyd signed to fight Mosley, people would be quacking like a duck at him everywhere he went, so he had to atleast go through negotiations, so he wasn't blatantly avoiding pac.

His target has been Mosley for quite a while, and he has been waiting him out. Waiting for Shane to get old, and slow down.

Well, hes done it. Shane is old, slurring, and well past his prime.

Don't let the Margarito fight fool you, Margarito was way too slow to show Shane's diminishing reflexes.

All you need to do is look at the Cotto fight, Shane just couldn't get out of the way of punches.

His reflexes are not getting better with age, and that is why Floyd wants to fight him.
