Mosley seems to be cut from the same cloth though. I think his win over Margarito is getting a little over hyped because styles make fights and that was a perfect matchup for Shane BUT he is still a tremendous fighter. IMO, if Mayweather beats Shane it will be his greatest win. Greater than when he beat Chico.
Do lower weight fighters improve or decline after 35?

I am not sure about cut from the same cloth, and I dont like Mayweather or what he stands for one little bit,but will give him credit if he gets the win. The major problem I have with it,is the steepness of decline 99% of fighters go through in their mid thirties, and a near 18 month layoff is going to have done Mosley no favours at all at this stage of his career. To say otherwise is crazy IMO.Mosley seems to be cut from the same cloth though. Every fighter declines at 35... even before that... a Roy Jones with 32 as great as he was for example... couldn't do what a 26 year old Jones could do... and 35 even more so... no question about itComment

It really depends on the fighter, the way he fought and if he could take punishment. The lower weight classes seem to have more wars. For example, Marquez - Pacquiao, Marquez - Barrera, - Morales - Barrera, - Marquez - Vazquez, Gatti fights, and more. Not all fighters can take punishment like that, so I would say majority decline but it really depends on the fighter.
I can see the Klitschkos being on top forever if they would like to, because they really haven't been in any big wars, other than Vitali with Lewis.Comment
there is no poll, and it depends on the fighter.
totally agree....your fighting style, not your weight, dictates how long you can fight.
guys that fight in wars, while they are fun to watch, have a time limit on how long their careers can last......technical fighters, especially the ones more reliant on defense and counter-punching, and don't take too many shots, have a longer shelf life. look at hopkins.Comment
