  • [QUOTE=BoxingOaktown;7397642]I think they want to build his resume with marquee names first and hype him up the easy way rather then put him in their with the lions (which i believe he is one to) and then possibly put him in a mega fight

u guys saw what happened to ortiz and arreola(is he a gpb fighter?) when they were thrown in with lions

so they might be preserving young khan for the moment

I think your wrong about building his resume, the amerians know who he is, he said himself they love him in the states, he wanted to be a world champ, well he got his wish, being a world champ means you have to go in with the lions, surely that’s what a world champ does, if he's a lion as you seem to think, why did he bottle it against maidana, no he has a fear of punchers, he'll fight any one who he thinks can't knock him out, now before I get all the crap about being a khan hater, I (don't) hate khan, I just think he's vastly over rated

            Khan isn't a middleweight.

I have a friend who boxes with me. He is 6'2 and weighs less than 12 stone. He is naturally slim. Khan doesn't boil down dramatically. He is at a comfortable weight. Being tall doesn't make you big.

Khan is on a steady road, and is being built up to fight the big names in boxing. He is only 23 and could have fights with Marquez, Judah, and Mayweather on his resume by the time he is 24. I would like him to fight Maidana, but hey boxing is a business, we all have to deal with it.

Plus, if you are that against fighters like Khan, why are you going to the Night Of Champions? Frank Warren is the engine behind hyped and protected fighters like Hatton, Calzaghe, Khan and now Brook, Mitchell, and the Olympians. Why fuel the fire?

Khan will probably end up at 154 if his career is a long one.

I just have a feeling Khan will be out of the game in about five years when he is only 27. That would have been the motive behind leaving a safe promoter in Warren whom actually would have made Khan a very rich man and built him up a nice record but it would have been a long career.

Golden boy = big money, big fights, high intensity.

                    Shorter career.

Check out how Warren matches Mitchell. It will be textbook.

Exactly. Khan isn't ******. I would guess that Khan want's 5 years at the top and then retire. He is already rich. What's the point in carrying on?

With Warren he would have avoided Maidana, and probably have taken on Morales next, and then boxers like Murray, Mbaye, and Rees.

Even though he is avoiding Maidana with Golden Boy, at least he is still taking on risky fights. JMM is a much harder fight than Maidana for Khan. JMM has the power to knock Khan out and the skills to outbox him. Maidana only has a punchers chance of beating Khan. Plus Maidana isn't a big fight, Marquez is.

If Khan's next 5 fights resemble Marquez, Mallignaggi, Judah, Hatton, and Mayweather, then I have a lot of respect for him. However I would still love to see him fight Maidana and Bradley.

Mitchell is Warren's only chance of being a relative cash cow at the moment. As soon as he get's a title shot and maybe wins, he won't go near a top fighter again.
