so why do you say 'hes a ****in middleweight' but then say he aint yet

height and reach dont dictate the weightclass you fight in-would you like some examples?

    • Fact is, Khan will never fight anyone his own size who can hit even remotely hard. Or his own age for that matter.

        • Khan claims to be world class but it'll be long time before he fights any real challenge and people will excuse him because he's young, SMH.

            • Khan is 22 for gods sake. He moved up from 135 to 140, and outclassed a very well rounded and respected opponent in Kotelnik. It was a very good victory. Next he knocked out his mandatory opponent Salita in spectacular fashion. Now he is fighting a Mexican legend in Marquez who is one fight removed from knocking out Casamayor and Diaz. 5 pounds north is not a great deal of weight. However, because Marquez was dominated by Mayweather, they call him shot. Ridiculous.

Marquez vs Khan is a very good fight. However there are a few sods who choose to discount the fight because of their hatred of Khan. Why do they hate him so much? Oh, because he was protected early on in his career. Well boo the **** hoo. Most fighters are protected until around their 20th fight. Khan is not the first and is certainly not the last fighter to face soft opposition early on in his career. At least he is stepping it up now.

Calzaghe didn't fight Kessler his first real, world class, prime opponent until he was 36 or so. Hatton didn't fight Tszyu until he was 25 or 26. Believe me, Khan is stepping his career up. He may not be putting his head on the chopping block straight away against the likes of Maidana, but he will get there. The only reason people want to see Khan fight Maidana is to potentially see a young man violently get knocked out so they can all gloat and cheer on his downfall. No boxing reasons whatsoever. The attitude of some of the posters on this site makes me sick.

Khan is going in the right direction. No promoter would put a guy with a chin as poor as Khan's in with a huge puncher on his American tv debut. Risks need reward, and Maidana offers no reward at the moment. Lets build the fight up and maybe in a year, Khan and Golden Boy will be ready to put it all on the line. If Khan is as bad as people make him out to be, then he won't even get to that stage. Marquez is still great enough to put his career back a few paces with one solid shot to the chin.

                  • I'm not a Khan fan at all, but I understand this is nothing but a business move to get Khan's name out there by exposing him to American TV and Mexican fans.

Marquez is only a 5 feet 6 inches blown up featherweight and 36 years old,
Khan is 5 feet 10 inches and 23 years old, through out his career up to press Khan has always fought the smaller man that is until he met prescott and we all saw what happened there, khan must have been really gutted when he saw Kevin Mitchell beat prescott
The fans are tired of the excuses why he won’t fight a puncher, he’s only 23, he needs the settle in first, the money was better fighting another opponent, it goes on and on, he won’t fight a puncher because he fears a fighter who can punch, he’s been put on his arse by fighters who where considered none punchers, why is it when someone criticize Khan they are called Khan haters, the majority of fans who criticize Khan don’t hate him, they are just tired of being cond, by (Mr. Khan’t take a chance)
