....and who's to say mitchell wasn't in shape?

i'll tell you some real s**t...if he won that first fight and his next 20 or so @ 175 and lost a title shot to whoever was holding a belt @ 175 at that time, he would look real suspect scaling down to 160 after that...
its not speculative it's what happened. if you refuse to believe that then fine. some people are too ****** to change and won't budge. i'm guessing you are one of them. what evidence we have is hopkins saying he started taking boxing seriously after that loss, got into better shape, fought at a more natural weight division(not just taking a fight on a couple days notice), and also oh the fact his entire career was at 160 till he turned 40. let me guess that's not concrete enough for you? you want actual blood tests?

          • whats so funny is, you start a "hopkins is great" thread, it falls off the board...you say hopkins is overrated, and his fans have to work overtime defending him...lol

why would i hate a guy who has 21 bum defenses against mostly unranked opponents, getting gift decisions, gift stoppages, having a style where you flap around like a ******ed bird, avoiding all challenges, fighting in an ice rink, ducking ottke and glen johnson, beating fighters like hopkins and jones only when they became 40 and faded and doing this all while pretending you are the greatest fighter of all time with the biggest ego. can't hate that.

oh yeah you gotta pimp a good excuse when you lose...thats what hopkins and all his excuse making fans are good for....what do you expect him to say he lost to a better fighter in his first fight?....get real...again...he lost....

trust me everybody (including myself) who are not big on hopkins knows their s**t about his record, weight history, overrated defenses, etc, so trying to say anyone here is ****** because they choose to not be delusional enough to be brainwashed into thinking hopkins lost because he wasn't in shape, because thats what YOU believe...lol...bruh, that ain't working...we just are not impressed...trust me we'll be impressed when he fights and beats an equally sized, equally talented fighter who isn't shot, or just got finished hanging out with stallone on a movie set...

yes clinton mitchell was better than him that day. i don't care that he lost. i'm not one of those calzaghe undefeated fanboys. the reason he lost is cause he didn't know how to box and the only place he boxed was in prison. when he started taking boxing more seriously look how much better he did. you think clinton mitchell would beat him then?

he didn't do better just cause he dropped weight. he did better cause he learned the boxing game. but apparently learning isn't something you are familiar with.
