again nobody here isn't saying he ain't got skills, or didn't hone his skills, but all of his detractors say the same thing...out of an entire career, entire career mind you, he only beat one fighter equally sized, equally talented...and that was tarver, and that win has some question marks because tarver just got finished hanging out with stallone on a movie set...and it doesn't seem like he's too interested in putting his skills to the test against an equally sized, equally talented fighter like dawson, or we'd even settle for a beltholder @ cruiser at this point...

he ducked and dodged jones, when jones told him flatly "60-40", he went and fought the morrade hakkars of the world...when it was time to put up or shut up, he chose to do the latter, and is paying the price for it...lol

Edit: One thing i think calling Bhop way past prime is slighty unfair seeing as on his most notable wins you gave him he has Winky, Tarver and Pavlik. He faced all 4 one after the other.
Oh my mistake on Winky and Pavlik I'll fix that.

Edit:Perhaps way past prime for Hopkins is a bit much; I'll re-label him past prime. Although at 40 years old I think he is not nearly as good as he was in his early 30's, I think it's a testament as to how good he is that he is able to beat fighters like Winky, Tarver and Pavlik even though he was so old.

yes but when he's walking around at 190 why is he draining himself to make 168? hopkins didn't have to drain himself for any of his middleweight fights he lived his life around 160 till the end of his career where he naturally became bigger. seems like you are putting a lot of stock into a single fight hopkins had at the start of his career when he was out of shape. oh well keep using that it's pathetic but you need some hope.

kessler started his career at the age of 18 he is 30 now.did you see the lil half hour show about the super six where they show kesslers moms and sister and they talk about how skinny he was when he was younger and that they never expected him to grow to the size he is

he's 190 fat not 190 in shape like bernard was at 175. at middleweight you could see bernards ribcage, what other middleweight can u see their ribs?

Towards the end of his reign he did appear drained but not in his prime. In his prime he often weighed in around 158 and was in fantastic shape.

again hopkins is a freak of nature...even he admits in ring mag that he had to starve himself to stay at 160 all those years...its something that most fighters obviously cannot do...

breathe in, then breathe out, then let go of the excuse that hopkins was out of shape...he lost...in or out of shape is irrelevant...especially 20 years later...

it's a difference in oppinions but i just don't understand how bernard can be considered great and calzaghe overrated when their careers are very similar either they are both great or they are both overrated
