early on you could see that Gainer was going to try and keep JMM at the end of his jab while turning him away from shots but it just became a track meet of embarassing proportions thats why I say watch once then burn

what I like about it though is a blueprint on how you beat a faster fighter with quality footwork and punching

    I'm watching Peden/JMM and WOW.

Marquez looked so good at 26'.

I'll check the Gainer fight later.

Yeah, considering all the disadvantages he did pretty good.

A few thoughts on this fight.

Peden has an iron chin. Hbo commentating was **** on this night. And the referee seemed biased against JMM.

JMM put it on him badly in the 10th. Amazing.

Probably the Casa fight!!Casamayor had the speed & tools & was supposed to have the style to beat him,but nope!!Marquez figured him out & stopped the man!!Marquez was the only man to do that, huge accomplishment!!Second would be Pac#1,no question that to come back after 3 kd's in round 1,& bring that fight to a draw was remarkable!!

                    JMM/Pac 1 (5) -- 5
                    JMM/Casamayor (4.25) -- 4.75
                    JMM/Diaz (5) -- 5
                    JMM/Pac 2 (4.50) -- 4.5
                    JMM/Mayweather (4) -- 3.0
                    JMM/Barrera (4.25) -- 4.25
JMM/Jaendeng (4.75) -- can't rate. only watched you tube clip not entire fight
                    JMM/Juarez (5) -- 4.75
                    JMM/Jaca (4.75) -- 4.5

Agreed on Pac1/Diaz. I like the Casamayor fight though. He was initiating the exchange to make sure that he looks like the aggressor. Probably, he learned that from Pac2. And bonus, he got the KO win over another great counterpuncher with a good/great chin. The Pbf fight, he was really too slow because of the added weight. His timing is still on but I would not personally rank this in his compelling fights.

The Casamayor fight is one of my favorite Marquez performance.

Being the first to stop Casa is such an underrated accomplishment.
