Boxing is a sport that has been refined through the years. There are reasons behind all the rules. What is MMA going to turn into 5 years from now? Wont be long before elbows will be gone and knees, they are to dangerous. Seriously some ones skull is going to crack wide open. And another problem is hitting a guy when he is on the ground. Even now the refs cant stop the fights fast enough. Seen lots of guys get hit full force when they are out cold on the floor. Watch any so called classic MMA fight its mostly boxing anyway whats the point. Only reason I watch it is because boxing is rarely on T.V.

If I ever watch and that is a rarity, I always see a guy where his background is supposedly boxing, and root for him. Even though his boxing is literally not on an amatuer level.

to me boxing kills mma, its my favorite sport... mma is entertaining though, when dudes stand up and trade eho have minimal ground skills, its always a brutal standup fight

Anderson Silva is the best MMA fighter by being just good enough in the various disciplines it contemplates.

Yeah, I'll give MMA that they have more frequent big name fights than boxing does.

Yeah man, last Sunday Jonny Jones fought Brandon Vera, and cracked his SKULL in three different places with ONE elbow strike. That ****s crazy.

That's true if they were in the UFC. But lots of good MMA fighters fight in another league that could beat lots of guys in the UFC.

not at all, youre dead wrong sorry. UFC is the ultimate and ONLY proving grounds in MMA.. The only Heavyweight not in the UFC that does anything is Fedor and he needs to come to the UFC to compete with the best. There are a few more guys as well, but you can be good and fight in Strikeforce and DREAM and other organizations, but you must be GREAT to fight in the UFC, and if youre losing too many fights, Dana White will send you your release papers, and thats the damn truth... If there was no UFC there is no MMA right now, and that is why all the greatest MMA fighters prove themselves there.
