    Main differences between MMA and Boxing!

    Alright, there are a lot of boxing vs MMA debates, I'll settle this **** once and for all.

    Fighting Spirit
    You and your opponent are both paid handsomely to fight till the end of the scheduled bout. Here are a few examples of what is customary in each sport.

    In MMA:

    Fighter Quotes
    Hyping a fight is a big part of the fight game. Here are some quotes from each sport.



    MMA Quotes:


    "God bless god!" - Brock Lesnar, UFC Heavy Weight Champion
    "His precision is so precise!" - Mike Goldberg, UFC senior color commentator
    "One word, I win." - James Thompson, PRIDE FC veteran



    Boxing Quotes:

      Showmanship
      Everyone likes to be entertained, some fighters go out of their ways to gives the fans what they want. Both sports have those types of fighters, lets look at some examples.

      In MMA:



      In Boxing:






      Cross-Overs
      It's natural for an athlete to attempt another sport, it's who they are.
      Lets see how fighters have done when he tries the other sport.

      In MMA: #1 P4P MMA fighter and UFC MiddleWeight Champion, Anderson "the Spider" Silva, going up against a nobody in the world of boxing.



      In Boxing: Washed up, nearly 50 year old Ray Mercer, going toe to toe with 2-time UFC heavyweight Champion, Tim Sylvia.

            Counter Punching
            It's a fight. You're going to get hit. Or at least the other guy is going to try.
            A mixed martial artist and a boxer both have their own ways of dealing with incoming fire. Here are some common examples, you decide which is more effective.

                I think you did a poor job in actually explainin the differences.

                The whole put your hands on your knees thing during a fight is ridiculous though. I have seen that more then once in MMA fights.

                    I cant believe you just compared Morales and Barrera to Kimbo Slice and an obvious tomato can to demonstrate fighting spirit.

                    I know you didnt just compare Muhammad Ali...One of the most quoatable figures in all of human history to a couple of freudian slips of the tongue by an mma fighter and commentator.
