That’s not the spirit. When you’re down, I’ll grab you up. Are you okay? Should we continue? That’s the martial arts spirit. That’s what I want.”

    This is the truth

I highly agree with Jacky Chan. As an Asian-American who is also a painter and a student of JKD/KALI/Tai Chi...and a purist boxing fan. ART is about the aesthetics, not the barbarism of fighting.

There's protocols and rules in engagement and the fine art of pugilism in boxing. MMA's view of "fighting" equating it with "reality" isn't art...it is what they conceived as "reality based fighting".

          Barbaric.

Just like in real life, we can all argue within protocols instead of calling one another *******S and *****S. That is barbaric, juvenile and simply sop****ric.

BOXING can be a gentleman's game and fought with dignity and class. That is why I love the sport. Not the pure testosterone-filled, rage and caveman-swinging types....though one can say Pacquiao is relatively a "caveman" comparted to the very fine art of defense by Mayweather.

I love to see both sides of the spectrum but still confined within the rules of pugilism and boxing.

Thus my interest piques at the notion of Mayweather and Pacquiao with their contrasting styles and personality. I hope they get to fight.

If the "ground and pound" tactic wasn't legalized, I doubt you would be able to even call MMA barbaric.
