That’s not the spirit. When you’re down, I’ll grab you up. Are you okay? Should we continue? That’s the martial arts spirit. That’s what I want.”

    This is the truth
Sry bro I disagree: martial means warlike, aggresive, hostile etc, just coz it's an art don't make it pretty or respectful, this is why I respect Bruce lees philosophies more because he based his on actual fighting, being 'martial' ain't about picking up ur opponent n asking if he's ok, n it'll b a cold day in hell if u were to see me do this in a street fight, using martial arts in a fight is about mashing up the opponent as quick and effective as u can before he can even react IMO if u wanna b respectful before/after a fight u do that, but being polite during a fight is likely to get u beaten on or stabbed..MMA is still a sport: hence the gloves etc but what jackie chan's saying don't make sense..when it comes to movie stunts tho: he's the man!!!

Jacki knows what's up, that's the reason i dont like ufc neither, hitting someone on their way up or while they are down doesn't really prove who's better, just that one guy took advantage of an out of balance fighter

Jackie Chan spoke nothing but the truth. MMA is just a way gigantic apes can go balls out for money. There's not much discipline because in the end it's whoever can make the other succumb first to their monkey maneuvers and leg humping.

MMA fighters go in there with all these different marital art skills,as soon as someone gets hit,it reverts back to a wild swing bar fight.Ive only seen a few that can throw punches correctly. The first person who lands that wild lucky looping punch, wins. Then the whole wrestling ,and ball sweat in your face,,,,click. Im with Jackie.

MMA is not the Martial Arts at all. 100%

Can we please start calling them Mixed Martial Athletes? It's faar more accurate. Calling them Martial Artists just sounds ignorant. Yes, there are a few Mixed Martial Athletes who follow Bushido.

Boxing is a gentleman's sport. MMA is just....uggggh...i fcukin can't stand the UFC or MMA. If there's anyone who hates the MMA/UFC it's me. Why? It doesn't matter; cus the futile debate over boxing vs. MMA will eventually ensue proving nothing like always. That ***** is stooopid. The first time i watched the UFC on it's debut, i thought it was weak. Funny how it's still weak.

I'm with Jackie Chan. How you call mounting and repeatedly hitting an outbalanced or downed opponent martial arts is way beyond me.

while i find a guy getting knocked out, woken back up and knocked out again interesting at first its the exact same reason why i dont watch. Boxing is an art, PERIOD!!!!

So he doesn't like MMA, so what? That's won't make me hate him. I'm both an MMA and Jackie Chan fan and nothing will change that.
