Shane is facing a undefeated 32 year old welterweight about the same size as him with a difficult style.
That former flyweight bull**** is old. Manny will come into the ring at a solid 150. Small for a WW but it's obvious he is way bigger than when he was a FW. But you are right, Clottey will harbour a big size adv.

And Floyd is not as solid as Shane, Shane comes in at 160 at least doesn't he?

pac has 1 fight at 135, one fight at 140, one fight at 145, & 1 fight at 147. The rest are 130 & below. Pac has never come in at 150. He's always at the 148-47 range.

I don't care where his fights have been, he couldn't make 130 to save his life now and would have trouble making 135. He was 149 vs Cotto, it is not inconceivable that he comes in at 150 or so vs Clottey.

You can say that for May to a degree too... he ain't let his hands go so often liked he used too... he probably not as powerful as he was at 130... but I think Mayweather fights pretty much the fight he wants

If Mosley will beat Mayweather it will have something to do with skill... I don't think you can beat May with physicality...

If Clottey wins I guess it will be because he is simply too big and Pac can't handle it... I mean you can be as skilled as you want but somehwere the body reaches his top...

So long story short... Mosley IMO
Will a solid win over Clottey prove that Manny is a real WW. The Cotto fight did it for me. I picked Cotto bc I didn't think Pac would hurt him. I didn't think Manny was a true WW because he had just made 140 with ease and the DLH win just showed Oscar was old and drained (though still a good win IMO).. The Cotto fight despite being at 145 told me Pacquiao is a real legit WW.

This is a good as thread because "most" of the post are not biased and its basically split down the middle. I honestly dont know who deserves more. Im leaning towards Mosley though.

Now that I think about it, I think most would say Mosley if you really think about it. The reason being is that pretty much no one thinks Clottey is better than Pac so if he beats him it must strictly just be on size but some do think Mosley is better than Floyd so that win is more legit.....................I guess

Shane being that he would be the first person to beat Floyd. Clottey would deserve a ****ton of props. I mean, beating the number 1 P4P fighter should garner you tons of accolades.

I don't know... I mean of course you can say he is a welter but he ain't fights his style at welter... he also has not the same power at welter (May of course does not too like he had at 130) but if you look at it... he does it with skill... he doesn't rush on guys like he used to at the lower weights. I don't think he's at his best at this weight... he found a way to still win fights and in an impressive manner... but he is not that guy with the terror punch from 130 who simply over powers you... he does it smart... if he gets beat at 147 it won't be because of skill... it will be because of power and strength because 147 is pretty much ceiling for him

I see boxing as an contest of skill... but if you are in a weight class where you can't compete because of physical issues... I have my problems with it... I think the Clottey fight will show if he is really a Welter... because Clottey is a big physical welter... Cotto IMO never was a big welter... Mosley, Margarito, Clottey... these are big welters who doesn't get pushed around...

I also think on two occasions he got hurt by a one punch of Cotto... I think 147 is pretty hard for him... we will see against Clottey.. CLottey will be there for 12 rounds and has some skill as well... hopefully he gets his head into the fight and this one could be better then most folks think
