You are dreaming bud , this no test stand will hurt Manny a lot , if Floyd keeps winning against the best like Mosley the worse it will be for Pac , they are on a collision course and Pac must agree to the testing and fight Floyd or he will alway be remembered for ducking the undefeated Mayweather by refusing a test every other fighter to fight Floyd will take , the general public the world over is dead against PEDS and Manny is appearing to be talking them by running from the test .

Yeah right, ask most fans and so you'll know who's dreaming.

Just look at Mayweather's career at the standpoint of non Floyd fans which comes into majority and whether you like it or not he cherry pick himself to greatness more than you Floyd fans think of Manny ducking.

It all leads tot he BEST OF THIS ERA subject. It is hard to prove you are the BEST OF AN ERA if people think you cheated my firend. All truth be told if the fight does not happen both sides are at fault not just Pacquiao but I do not see what the BIG deal is about the testing....Basically the ball was in PACS court. The spit was 50/50 gloves weight even the penalty for coming over weight 10million per pound. Lefty, you have said the bolded before. What has changed recently is the Berto withdrawal, which adds more fuel to your statement. I wouldn't necessarily agree with the title thread though for the following reasons:

1. Just the idea that Floyd is Keyser Soze scares the sh** out of me, lol.

2. While fighting Shane may eliminate Shane later as a possible Pac opponent, this is only achieved by outclassing Shane similar to JMM. I still think Shane is a live opponent at the very least for Floyd, if the fight is actually made.

3. Regardless of the outcome of Floyd-Shane, there will still be a demand for Pac-Floyd. Floyd may get the upper hand in negotiations (depending on many factors, some that are yet to happen) BUT there is no other dance partner out there who will give him the purse that Pac brings, so Pac, if he beats Clottey, will still have some say ...

Off-topic I was thinking that #3 also applies to Shane now. Shane wants to be paid, of course, but Floyd needs him also (lack of comparable legitimate dance partner) so while Shane can't go 50-50 split, he does have some leverage, now more than ever. I would think Shane will try to get more for himself now as opposed to the last time he was looking to fight Floyd.

His last three moves have been genius IMO. He has been shaping this fight from the very begining.

1) His first come back fight he takes on JMM. People call him a cherry picker amongst other things. This was done for one reason to obtain better bargaining leverage at the negotiations table. He takes out JMM in pretty easy fashion thus eliminating a public demand for a PAC vs JMM III.

2) He demands RANDOM TESTING for the fight with PAC on 3/13. When PAC made it a bigger thing than originally intended he puts an * next to PACS name in many of the common fans eyes. Thus the only fighter who is possibly compared to him as the BEST OF THIS ERA in many people eyes may have cheated. Even if he didn't walking away from 40 million in comparision to just giving blood RAISED some eyebrows.

3) He keeps his demand for RANDOM TESTING and says he is going to use it in every fight going forward to "CLEAN UP BOXING" PAC announces a fight with Clottey anther TOP RANK promoted fighter for the 3/13 date. NO SUCH TESTING is required. People are leaning back towards PAC and a good fight Floyd is left in limbo with out a dance partner. (no pun intended)

4) 1/18/09 Berto with draws from match with Mosley for Jan 30th date. Now possible match up between Floyd and Mosley lands in Floyds lap. Whether it goes down on March 13th or May1st undecided. But he puts the demand out there for RANDOM DRUG TEST with an admitted ROID user. (whether he knew about it or not he did admit it sorry Shane) Floyd can ink this deal he goes one up on Manny and also eliminates another potential opponent for Manny post his 3/13 date and inches himself a little closer to cornering Manny and shifting momentum back to GBP and himself at the negotiations table.

Floyds plan is going perfectly. I think the earthquake was a bit over the top though for him to do.

Because the point labeled 4 has to do with an earth quake and Floyd could not have planned on that happening nor could he have caused. Of course all this is pure speculation but it got tons of views and replies. This is a forum where we are supposed to create a buzz for the sport we love. I LOVE BOXING. I dedicate 3 hours each week to the SPORT I LOVE. The only reason why I posted a #4 is because if the fight with Shane happens IF then he took another possible dance partner for PAC out of the picture and created a better bargaining chip for himself in the fight with PAC....Lefty

No but the fact that the EARTH QUAKE happened and a possibility of someone calling up Berto and Co and saying look there is no shame in backing out now. We understand you are going through a tough time with the issues in your homeland right now. If we make an announcement and state what is the reasons behind you backing out now you won't lose any face plus here is a little something for your troubles....ahhhh could be a possibility no fellas? There may be some serious truth to what you are saying. A short while ago, AFTER the quake, Shaefer makes a statement that Floyd will choose an opponent in the next 3 days, and the people will be pleased.... I have no doubt in my mind that Shaefer used the Earthquake tragedy as an opportunity to take Berto out of the picture.

If Berto were to beat Mosley itd be a disaster for GBP because Al Haymo will not match Berto and Mayweather. Plus there is just too much money on a Mosley/Mayweather bout to pass up.

Earthquake presented an opportunity and GBP seized it. Just hope Berto is ok with it.

if manny plans on staying at 147 the legit road will lead to whoever wins may-mosley

mosley hasnt ever been able to get the kind of publicity other other fighters of his stature got, his biggest payday was against oscar

I agree with the fact that Shane is still lineal WW Champ since he beat the man who beat the man. But due to inactivity and the fact that Manny is the hottest thing in boxing right now if you want to make that CA$H then you need to get Manny in the ring. this fight is for the welterweight Title, simple as that. Mosley wins, he is STILL the champ in the division DESPITE HIS AGE and if Floyd wins, he is the champ again at 147. There should not really be any fuss about this fight coming off.

I agree with you 100% a few months ago when Mosley stepped in the ring after Mayweathers win over JMM everyone out there was screaming for this fight. I remember the interview with Mayweather on espn the Friday after that Happened....Lefty
