If they didn't agree for 147, then that's worse for team Pac. If they agreed to 147, then it is a legit WW fight. Neither one should step out of the limit.

Understandable but a 10MIL dollar penalty fee for every LB
over 147? If that was anyone else I'm sure a penalty that
high no other fighter would agree to but Floyd did (To Top Rank's
surprise). Basically my point is that if Roach was talking about
he wanted to get Floyd down to a catchweight back then to
get an advantage on Floyd then what changed his mind now?
I think Roach knew Floyd would be a handful for Manny and
they just didn't want it now. Don't understand why people
come down on Floyd for asking for random blood tests considering

haha no a cintron isn't better than clottey. he was never really a top 5 welter. he got absolutely crushed by margarito twice. when clottey fought margs he was winning until he damaged his hand and still went the distance and wasn't completely dominated. he won't fight mosley. and he won't fight pac. he is a big ***** who is going fight a lesser opponent and that's the way it will always be. he will not be fighter of the year. your loyalty to him really worries me but i'm sure you will eventually see what he really is. Get it right. Although am not a Kermit Cintron fan, he is definitely
more sellable and a better name than Clottey. Basically, Clottey has
lost all of his fights with top guys, Margarito and Cotto. Cintron
lost to Margarito twice but he also beat a rising prospect in Angulo
and has won after. What big win can Clottey claim? I like Clottey
but Floyd fighting Cintron is not bad considering Cintron is active
and has his name looping more than Clottey's.

Pac's camp and roach respect mayweather as a fighter as they should. He is a very tough opponent for anyone. Which camp had the excuses.
a) mayweather's camp immediately turned down the fight being anywhere but las vegas. it could have been the biggest event of the year had it been in cowboys stadium infront of 60k plus and affordable for a lot of fight fans. NOPE FLOYD CAN'T FIGHT OUTSIDE OF VEGAS WHERE THE XYLOCAINE HE USES IS ILLEGAL.
b) 147 was agreed as was 8oz which are both the standard for true welters.
c) the penalty for weight was issued because floyd JUST FOUGHT IN A CATCH WEIGHT AGAINST A LIGHTWEIGHT WHERE HE PURPOSELY MISSED WEIGHT BY 2 POUNDS.

All I have to say is how can Arum have made a deal with the
new cowboys stadium owner so fast after the fight didn't
materialize? That means that Arum was already working
on it and not putting his 100% into make Pac/Floyd happen.
Arum wins in this situation now because he is the promoter
for Pacquiao and Clottey and he also has the deal with the
stadium and the event is under his banner SO he gets MUCHO
DINERO!!! Why would Arum want Floyd to fight and possibly
beat Pac AND have to split the money when he can keep

Since the Pacquiao & Clottey fight is in Dallas, HBO should do a PPV double header with Mayweather facing Jan Zaveck. Yes, Jan Zaveck your IBF WW champ. Manny would fight @ 8pm, 6pm (PST) then Mayweather and Zaveck would fight in the 8pm (PST). slot. Now, Mayweather picking up the IBF strap means he can defend it against the Mosley & Berto winner in the summer because Manny wasn't going to fight this summer anyway due to his running for congress in the Philippines.

Assuming Mosley wins (not a given), then we have our 2nd unification bout this year. Let's not forget that the Mayweather camp did state they needed two "tune ups" before the Mosley fight, and Zaveck would technically be that 2nd "tune up" fight albeit for a strap and we finally get Mayweather & Mosley.

The winner of Mayweather & Mosley then would move on to fight Pacquiao in the fall for the UNDISPUTED WW championship. If this happens, the dust settles and it comes down to Mayweather & Pacquiao then they could possibly be looking @ a $60-$75 million dollar payday instead of $40.

You know, it’s not even very well done.

As background, the examiner isn’t a legit site. It’s a hosting site for fan blogs. The article is very amateurish (lots of Mayweather is a ducker, a coward, mixed in with wild accusations) and it’s easy about as dumb as it gets. Well, if you have ever been to a boxing gym.

Firstly, scratching the surface, it’s actually legal in most states. I think it’s only illegal in about 7. No state that hosts any sort of contact sport regularly has it banned. As pain killing injections are important in the treatment of injuries. What’s more, the states the writer says it is banned in – it’s not actually “banned” as in on a PED list. It’s banned, as in you’re literally not allowed to buy it, as the state hasn’t deemed it safe for use.

You know “banned in 49 states”, I’m not sure if that bit has been added on for affect by other plotters, but it’s plainly false.

Secondly, you can tell an amateurish smear effort, by the fact that they don’t even realise that Mayweather has fought all over the place since 2002 when he made the video (ironically for a HBO documentary on hand injuries, and how they are treated in sport).

He’s fought in 7 different states since thevideo. Oregon, California, Miami, Michigan, New York, New Jersey being some of them. He’s actually fought in more different states than Pacquiao!? He’s only actually fought in Nevada 10 times in his entire career in fact.

Thirdly, if you actually box, or play football at a decent level, you’ll laugh at this. It’s a real weak claim. The guys knowledge of boxing must just extend to having a picture of Manny on their wall. It’s a claim that has and has no respect for the sport.

Xyloclaine, Cortisone, and other pain killing injections are used legally in most boxing gyms. I have been lucky enough to play both college football, and box professionally for a couple of years. I’ve taken pain killing injections in both, fully legally, in most states.

Treatment of injury or ailment is not performance enhancing. If athletes couldn’t numb injured limbs then sport would fall apart. It’s nothing to do with fighting. It’s just to allow you to train through injuries, and to allow people with birth defects like that to compete at an even level. I guarantee Pacquiao doesn’t feel any pain whatsoever in any punch he throws. So, if you get a lot of hand injuries, of course you take pain killing injections.

You know, seriously, you could hit a tree 300 times with a boxing glove. You wouldn’t feel it. Especially with in ring adrenaline. The theory that Manny Pacquiaos punching power is based on the fact that he holds back as punching hurts him, is both ridiculous, hilarious and humiliating.

Gloves are designed to protect the hands as much as they are the face. They numb pain themselves. They are the original “number”. All the drugs suggested do is allow people born with hand problems to compete at the same level.

Finally, this is rather a malicious campaign. Not a news story. The guy who wrote it also posted 152 questions on the subject, with a link, to “Yahoo questions”. 152………I

They also posted several videos on the subject to Youtube, with links to his article. And his cronies have been flooding message boards with links to it. On the principle that those are the only sites that will take such ******ity I assume

The only real truths to the article are the fact that Mayweather used a legal pain killer in 2002 (when he discussed it in an documentary)interview about hand injuries on HBO.

The only true aspects of the story are that Mayweather used a legal pain killer in 2002.

The made up bits are that it’s “banned in 49 states” – it’s banned in about 5, and only for medical reasons. Not “banned” as in on a PE drugs list. Banned, as in, you can buy it in a chemist in Oregon, but not errrr, Kansas. Some states deem it dangerous, as treating joint injuries with pain killing injections – you are really risking disability in the area.

Floyd has also fought in 7 different states states the video was made since 2002. More than Pacquiao. What’s more, it isn’t even illegal in Texas. Think that was another odd claim.

Seriously. I like watching Manny, but I find his fans hard work. They tend to flood decent boards with malicious intent. Most of which is usually at least 50% made up.

You know, pulling out of the biggest fight ever, over drug testing, is what it is. Of course people will be su****ious. If a MLB slugger said he wouldn’t take Olympic random testing, people would think that he is on something.

You know, I’d suggest that “Mayweather uses legal pain killer, that’s legal almost anywhere, and used widely in most MMA and boxing gyms, as wells as pro football”. You know, if I ever write that book about dumb amateur boxing “pundits”, this will be on the first page.

If you "know it", then you might be a bit mad. No, I don't know it. It might be a possibility, but there is absolutely no proof of it. Floyd's camp is the one that is asking for something that hasn't been done before. Why should Manny bow down? He doesn't need Floyd. Manny faced the same opponents after Floyd beat them, lowering them somewhat. Since they were saying Floyd would whoop Manny anyways, why lose some 20 million for a silly test? Tell me why, since you seem to know a whole lot. It makes no sense. Why pass 20 million if you know you'd whoop the guy, drugs or no drugs? Zero sense!
