Clottey and his struggles to make 147????

    Interesting Quote here:

i stood right next to the fighters at the Cotto-Clottey weigh-in. Cotto made 146 no sweat - was standing, chatting, clearly in great shape. Clottey immediately plopped his a** down and swallowed bottle after bottle of pedialyte. For at least 15-20 minutes. It was scary. The guy belongs at 154 (he's fought there several times before) and can barely make welter. 145? Not a chance.

Why is Pac fighting him then???

    Williams
    Quitana
    Collazo
    Bradley

    Were all available.

I doubt they do a catchweight for this. Which makes you wonder why they made Cotto come down. I guess because they could?

maybe because cotto was his 1st real challenge at 147?

maybe they just wanted to try it out? maybe to get a slight advantage just in case pacquiao is too small at welterweight?

he's always had problems making 147. it's not something recent.

the guy comes in the ring at 170.

most welters come in at 160 or so.

He fought Oscar at 147 so I don't buy that. Unless they knew all along Oscar wouldn't be a challenge. And if it was to get a slight advantage then I'd like to talk to Senor Roach about his little double standards.

The Rock thinks Pacquiao was aware that he was a 5 foot nothing midget and wanted to test himself first.

                oscar was already coming down.

oscar actually came down more weight than cotto.

                double standards?

EVERY trainer/manager tries to get the slight advantages.

whether it be catchweight , ring size , glove size , glove brand , who enters the ring first , etc.

just because a trainer asks for slight advantages doesn't me it's a double standard for them to refuse a slight advantage on the opponents side.

                get it?

They have a weight class for that its called Junior WW.

And how was he too small when he just fought at 147 against Oscar??

If they think they are too small...move down ...but or fight a WEAK 147 Pounder..dont fight one with a belt and force him to put it on the line.
