this is good news for the tourney but more importantly for jermain. i think this move will just add more drama to the tourney as whole. bute would be the ideal choice as this way this would really show us who the best SMW is. but his contraction to HBO makes it difficult, i can see bika/greene making the tourney interesting. bika would add some fireworks and his fan friendly style won't make for boring fights. but the guys id like to see is greene.

as for jermain i hope he has at least a year off from the sport and does a bit here and there just to stay in shape. when he comes back id like to see him really work his way back into the fold, the easy (and profitable) option would be to jump in there with the top 10 SMW's immediately but id like to see his team tell him that the psat is the past and approach it as if he was a whole new fighter.

The only sensible decision for Taylor. Well done for being a man about it.

            Now, Pavlik step in....

No, how is this a good move? What happened to honoring your commitment? This is what's wrong with boxing today. No one is a trooper anymore. No decision is made because it's the right thing to do or because everyone around them has invested their time and money and reputations. Back in the day those guys fought for pride and honor like real men and hell yeah for the money. But let these guys get some and they want to turn into boxing divas. Like Mayweather. Yeah I said it. He's pure selfishness. Screw his skills. They're wasted on him. JT has money. He goes home every night to 1000 thread count sheets and his hot tub and a massage therapist and family and dogs and trainers and conditioning coaches and dieticians and he needs a break? Honor your commitments then take your break. If he had won his first fight I bet he wouldn't want to drop out.

IMO Taylor should of did this soul searching thing before he even entered the tourny.Hey,if Taylor would have won his first fight in the super six...would he have still pulled out?Dont think so.Just looks bad IMO.

Dude if he doesn't have it anymore he doesn't have it. Getting out is the right thing to do if you can't compete. Nothing is worth taking damage that could be long term.

The only thing is I wish he had made this decision a little sooner to allow the tournament to get reshuffled sooner.

Nothing but respect to JT. I think it was a smart move to drop from the tournament.
