The question is who beat Ruiz more convincingly, not who stood and traded with him more. Jones won more rounds and was barely touched. He definitely beat Ruiz more convincingly. Toney won and won big but it was not like he completely dominated him like Jones did.

i would say toney because jones only using his speed and didnt dare to stand in front of him. i think ruiz would knock jones out he if he stand in front of ruiz and trade punches. toney on the other could probably also use his speed hit-and-run but he didnt. he proved a lot.

Jones stood toe-to-toe more than once with Ruiz, and he did well when he did. Watch the tape again. Ruiz didn't faze Jones any more than he did Toney, and Ruiz was in shape and fresh when he fought roy. Toney COULD NOT hit and run. That has never been his style and it never will be. It's not as if he had that option. His only option was to go toe-to-toe flat-footed.
