Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Cites Height Concerns, Rejects Foreman

Some thought it might be a stretch to see WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao move up to 154-pounds to challenge WBA title-holder Yuri Foreman in March. Top Rank promotes both fighters and offered Foreman as a replacement for Floyd Mayweather Jr. The people who thought it would never happen said Foreman was just too big for Pacquiao, who fought Miguel Cotto last November at a catch-weight of 145-pounds.

Excellent news. Hopefully we will see Pac fight someone worthwhile now. Not cherry-picking the weakest paper-champ in a division where he is probably not even a top 5 competitor (ala David Diaz).

Yes but Floyd is 2 icnhes taller so 1 inch shorter. Plus Floyd has 72 inch reach while Manny has only 67.

Although it is a duck. I'll stick by this and hope he faces someone good

If this was Mayweather it would be considered "ducking". Pac would have destroyed him anyway. He's not on the level to compete.

                    I hope Pac fights Bradley.

Fighting Foreman wouldn't mean much in terms of legacy.

                    Historical significance? Yes.

                    Legacy? No.
