Who the hell is Larry Merchant and how many boxing titles has he won or how many championship fighters has he trained? Aside from being a so-called boxing analyst and he sucks at that, this guy doesn't know shyt about boxing. I would much rather have Teddy Atlas on HBO as a boxing analyst. Atlas is someone who has boxed himself as well as trained fighters and knows the sport inside out. Merchant on the other hand is a self-absorbed relic of boxing's past. So as far as I'm concerned Merchant's opinion doesn't mean jack-shyt!

I havent read this entire thread but I take Merchant's words with a grain of salt. Merchant has been riding pac's bayag as soon he stepped into the US. He hates Floyd and they have argued alot. He also never gave Jones Jr any respect while Harold Lederman loved him. Merchant has said "I know Ray Leonard and Jones is no Ray Leonard."
I will say if he left HBO he would be missed though as Kellerman, Lewis, and Lampley are horrible. Emanuel Steward is great at times but also brings bias toward fighters.Comment

i still cant believe people are not getting why mayweather is asking for these tests? its the same thing as asking Margarito to rewrap his hands...
he wants a fair fight, manny wont take the tests because hes scared of getting caught cheating...

You're right Larry Merchant, you are so polite to say fear to loose his undefeated record. It is not fear to loose his undefeated record rather afraid of being knocked out because 95% he will be knocked out by Manny Pacquiao and that is the whole issue behind ****** Olympic Style Drug Testing. They know very well that Manny is not taking steroid and they can see that in Manny's training. Even now they are saying that they still hoping for the Floyd-Manny fight, they are hyppocrite, they just want to sell the Mayweather-Hatton fight so they have to prove that they really didn't duct Manny, who will watch the fight if people believe that Floyed Scared Mayweather duct the Super Pacman?Comment

Hoya at 145, Ricky at 140 which was legit, Cotto at 145
Now he's talking about fighting Yuri at 154? Why not Oscar at 154? The Oscar that Mayweather fought almost 3 years ago beats Pac.
Also, why not Cotto at 147? Since it was for the WW belt? Why make him "cut" those two pounds? Would it have made a difference? Probably not but its still the point. When Mayweather does it he gets bashed......
Now Pac can move up to 154 for Yuri but not Oscar? Why is that? Isn't this what Mayweather gets bashed for?
Manny "zombiefies" the guys while Floyd feeds them there biggest paycheck so they come in at higher weights than normal. Same logic? The fans of each just ignore things based on the agenda they have.
I'm a fan of both and I respect both. If you think both sides don't try and get every advantage possible going into the fights than you are certainly blind. It's just that when team Pac does it, its considered smart. When Mayweather does it, its cheating, not fair, ducking, scared, etc etc etc.... The tactic is still there. Each team is looking for the advantage if you like it or not.
Pac just smiles while doing it while Mayweather flicks you off and asks how many times have you lost.....Comment

I like Kellerman, he's says it like it is and doesn't care of the repercussions if any even though he looks like a bug. Lewis is a complete DUMB A$$ and Lampley's not too bad when compared to Larry. Larry is just old and they need a fresh face in there. He takes forever to speak and he try's to get all philosophical and shyt not to mention he has a list of fighters that he clearly dislikes.Comment

40 years from now a man and his grandson are going have the following conversation:
Man: Johnny, when I was younger there was a fighter call Manny Pacquiao who was one of the best fighters in the world at the time. I remember he fought Floyd Mayweather. Floyd was another great fighter at the time. They were the best two fighters at the time and they had a great fight.
Grandson: Yeah grandpa, I read about that fight before. Wasn't there some sort of contravercy about that fight.
Man: Well, before they actually put the fight together Mayweather and his people beleived Pacquiao was on some sort of illegal performance enhance drugs and they wanted him to take some kind of tests before they fought.
Grandson: Did Pacquiao take the tests? Did they ever find something wrong?
Man: Well, Pacquiao never took the tests the Mayweathers wanted.
Grandson: Why didn't he take the tests?
Man: (Shrugs his shoulders).
Grandson: Oh, so don't really know for sure if he was using something illegal?
Man: I guess.
