According to the information passed on by promoter Andrzej Wasilewski to BOKSER.ORG, Krzysztof Bienias (39-3, 16 KO) vs. Kell Brook (20-0, 13 KO) will be an eliminator for a shot at the WBO welterweight belt belonging currently to pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KO). The stake of the bout scheduled on February 13 at Wembley Arena in London will also be for the WBO Inter-Continental welterweight title which is held by the 29-year-old Pole. Pac needs to fight Foreman for history, fight Mayweather for legacy, and fight Mosley for retirement.
Otherwise he'll be fighting tomato cans for 2 years. None of these European guys can beat him. -
I think Warren is doing this so that they'll get the title when Pac inevitably vacates.
Hopefully it means we'll see something like Brook vs Cotto/Clottey/Quintana/Collazo/Mosley/Berto loser for the vacant title at some point. I don't like to see any fighter get a belt handed to him without having to face a world class opponent.Comment

To me, a Foreman fight bears very little significance. Manny hasn't even cleaned out lower weight classes (135/140/147). So going after the least prominent fighter at 154 isn't an MO for an ATG. It's cherry picking, plain and simple. Boxing does not need this. I'm a Manny fan but I call it as I see it.
In fact, if the fight goes through, I feel it'll hurt his legacy by diluting his resume, even if it's justified as a junket after going through a war with Cotto. There are so many compelling match ups without going to JMW.Comment

Brook? Has Pacquiao "The Destroyer" running in fear?...Really...you think so? They are very different fighters but,...Pacquiao will do to Brook what he did to Hatton. Brook holds his hands to low, and what Pacquiao did to Cotto, with either hand; Brook will have more than a hand full in Pacquiao...IMO Pacquiao in 3 if not in 5; Pacquiao will not leave Kell Brook alive.Comment

Winning titles in heavier division is harder than cleaning out a division. Even Oscar said it.To me, a Foreman fight bears very little significance. Yeah, Oscar is a reliable source of information, eh?
Fighting arguably the weakest champion in a weak division is less impressive than fighting the strongest champion in a very strong division.Comment
