rid**** bowe:a look at his career

I watched 34 fights & he never achieved what he could of.his biggest mistake was throwing the wbc belt in the garbage.he was nevered ranked again in their ratings.rock Newman played hardball for years & when bowe lost the 2nd Holyfield fight he was always ranked behind don king fighters,& WBC never looked at him again.he got rich & got out.his trilogy with holyfield & 2 fights with golota were classics.weird things happen when he fought.he fought 5 former champs going 6-1.he was 3-1 in title fights & 2-0 in wbo title fights.he fought pinklon Thomas, cooper, tubbs, seldon, coetzer, dokes,Holyfield 3 times, donald, hide, mathis jr,jorge luis Gonzalez, golota twice.he made $ & had a good career but he got bit in the end by disrespecting the WBC.don king had control of the WBA & ibf rankings.he never got close again after he lost the belts.weak title defences vs Jesse ferguson & an old,out of shape michael dokes.

Him throwing the belt in the garbage was one of the biggest mistakes he could have ever made, aside from kidnapping his girlfriend or wife or whatever. He had some great wars but in the end his potential was never reached, he also had a comeback that should have never been.

There was an article earlier this year about Bowe selling autographed memorabilia at a New Jersey flee market because he's broke. It's the common rags-to-riches back to rags boxing story...

Bowe was one of my favorite fighters, the wars with Holy and Golota took a lot out of him

He had the skills to be great. But, I don't think he had the discipline and the mental strength that a great fighter should have.

I agree with this. I also think he could have went alot further without Rock Newman.

Classic clip of Lennox talking smack to Bowe after one of his fights.
