Where It All Went Wrong for Pacquia

On the night of November 14th Manny Pacquiao came off with an impressive late rounds TKO off of Miguel Cotto.

During the post fight interview he was asked about his victory but of course we were all waiting for the big question, "Is it your desire to fight Floyd Mayweather next?"

IMO Pac answered the question the way he should have. He simply responded by saying that he just finished a tuff fight and all he wanted to do is enjoy his victory, go on vacation and spend time with his family. Whether you believed him or not I think he was smart by not bringing up Floyd.

Pac and his camp were well aware that they were set up to land the biggest payday in perhaps all of sports history. So before saying anything about a proposed mega fight they should have sit back and analized the fight itself and who they were dealing with, the same people who were accusing Pac of possibly cheating.

Now here comes Floyd and his best friend (his mouth) and not to long after Pac's victory against Cotto and begins the trash talk. Fine, Pac should've been on vacation like he said and his camp should have joined him. Pac now announces his candidacy to run for congress in the Philippines and expresses his desire to fight in March so as not intefere with the elections. Fine. Forget the vacation and family for now.

Now here come Floyd's camp and makes a proposal with Pac's people. They indicate their interest to fight Pac in March and of course with Floyd being the business man that he is, he indicates everything he wants from purse, ring size, glove size and the oh so dreaded drug tests.

Now this is where everything started to crumbled for Pac. From the time that Pac and his handlers read all of Floyd's request they should have responded to them with something like this, "We have reviewed all of the Mayweather's requests and found that his request in regards to the drug testing is not consistent with the NSAC. We have always been fighting in accordance to the guidelines of the NSAC and never once broken the rules and never once been caught breaking the rules. Manny is a clean fighter and takes pride in what he does well and that is boxing. We will not allow anyone to slander Manny. If the Mayweathers wish to arrange a fight with Manny it will be in accordance to how it has always been done. The only differences in this fight than any other fight is the money involved and the caliber of fighters. Other than that, it's still two men lacing them up and fighting. Period"

Now that's how the Pac camp should have responded from the beginning. If though you would have had a small contingecy of people still making the performance enhancing drug allegations many other people would have not thought twice about it. Once they received a response back from the Mayweathers on how they weren't going to accept a fight without the proposed tests Manny's and his people should have said "Chao, goodbye, adios, end of. discussion."

I think many people to include the casual fans would have rode with Pac at that time.

But then Pac's camp let the situation simmer. Many people were waiting for waiting whether or not Manny was going to accept or not accept. And when they finally came out with a response (I won't bore you with what they actually said) it kind of stopped a lot of people in their tracks.

Now a lot of people who didn't care about the steroid issue are now having questions.

Mayweather camp started this mess and Pacquiao's camp threw fire on it and magnified it.

          Oh well, maybe next time.

                Steroids are detectable through urine.

                  That's the problem!

Manny will not take any random blood tests, but yet Pacquiao says he has nothing to hide..Yea right!..Manny is now looking to fight anyone that won't suggest random blood testing....I wonder ¿Why?...

Not all steriods, but All could be detected in blood samples if done randomly so it won't give the athlete time to clean his system..

To ensure his integrity and well being...

In a contract you can estipulate whatever you want, so there can be aditional random blood tests, why PAC can't?? why???
