Froch hasn't exactly endeared himself to me recently with his poor performance against Dirrell (although I still had it as a very close fight, with either man winning by a round every time I score it) and his unfounded arrogance, but I have him beating Kessler. Cliche though it is, styles make fights and I think Froch is all wrong for Kessler for a few reasons. While Froch is undoubtedly one-dimensional, I feel Kessler is too predictable and incapable of adapting mid-fight. Froch will probably lose the first half of the fight, but will get himself back into contention with sheer will. Froch is tough enough to walk through shots that he sees coming and Kessler has always fought the exact same way. I think Froch can break Kessler down. Should be a good fight though.
After Froch bludgeons Kessler...

I have said it before, I think Froch wins this fight.
Slick fighters, with handspeed and defence are horrible style match ups for Froch, but Kessler is not that.
Also, as limited as froch has seemed lately he is a much better fighter than Andrade, I think he can get to Kessler, but the thing is, it is going to take some doing to get inside, once he does, he needs to destroy Kessler.
TS used a good word "Bludgeons", thats excactly what Carl needs to do.
I know Carl and Mikell have become friends during this tournament process, but Carl cannot show any mercy in the ropes, I think Kessler is vunerable right now, and a merciless, ruthless Froch will be too much for him, If Carl holds back though, he could shoot himself in the foot and end up losing.Comment

one fight doesnt make a streak lolMy money is on Froch KOing Kessler. The loss to Ward has got him on a losing streak and really he could do with an easy fight before getting going again and the Froch fight is going to be a hard one. Froch is very good and underestimated because he wins ugly. IMO Froch will need to KO Ward to win I can't see him winning on points.Comment

He didn't look that good against Pedermo either until his power bailed him out. It could be what some suggested and he is a bit past prime now.Comment

Even though I dont agree i see the point you are making, either way this fight is going to be good, its going to be a war without a shadow of a doubt, both fighters are going to be going in there looking to trade. I dont think it will go all the way to be honest.Froch is bigger than Kessler, has a longer reach and is not remotely bothered about fighting anywhere.
The main asset, which you cannot bottle or measure with a tape, is that iron will to win at all costs. To go out on your shield in a war.
Kessler is as text book as you like, which is good for Froch who carved out a very good career fighting Kessler-types from all over europe.
He even won fighter of the tournament in Copenhagen during the Box-cup of Europe, battering one their top guys.
The first round will begin and you will see Kessler backing up as soon as Froch lands anything of note.
Kessler is the next best thing to Calzaghe in his eyes. He's had "Kessler this, Kessler that" from Calzaghe for the last years - and by going to Kessler's hometown and doing a proper number on him, he will bury that ghost.
Froch has come off three wins against fast handed, athletic black guys. All had skillz and all had top honours whether that be as a pro or an amateur.
When i look at Kessler's record i see Anthony Mudine (a guy heading to 154 now) and and old, washed up Marcus Beyer. The rest would not rank in the top 10 nowadays and i include nearly-man Andrade in that.
Kessler will have the pressure of coming of a bad loss and performing in style in front of his countrymen.
The bookies have Froch the slight underdog - based on what i dont know!
I not only think he will win, but i think he will win BIG.
Froch has alot of mental strength, is very tough and has a fair bit of power, but his defence is and always will be awful (too old to change), Kessler can **** and hes going to go straight down the middle with his trademark one twos and Froch is going to get hit ALOT. Whether Froch can overcome that makes the fight interesting. And I stand by my previous point about Carl not having a great chinComment
