I highly doubt it. He wouldn't be able to make 140 comfortably. If he could, hed be fighting there.

It wouldn't derail his career but I can see Bradley or Berto being the next PPV stars. Both have great skills, well spoken(especially Tim), and are pretty exciting imo. If Berto dropped down he could run that division with Tim and they could put on a Hopkins lock hold of 140. You start losing at 147 you won't become a huge PPV draw.

Him and Bradley could own that division for years. At 147 Berto can beat an old Shane but will eventually run into a bigger man.
Hes an actual 140 pounder but, hes a guy who eats alot and gets buffed he wouldn't be able to go down and if he did he probably wouldn't be healthy. He blows up to middleweight fight night.

He started as a middleweight he can't make 140 healthy, then again doesn't Juan Urango have nearly the same body type?

Andre Berto(5 8 1/2) is taller and bigger than the following WW's:

            Floyd Mayweather Jr 5 8
            Manny Pacquiao 5 6
            Joshua Clottey 5 8
            Miguel Cotto 5 7
            Zab Judah 5 7 1/2
            Jose Luis Castillo 5 8
            Ricardo Torres 5 8

So If Andre Berto belongs in 140 because he's a short Welterweight, then these guys belong at 135 cos he's taller than them. Berto is a half inch shorter than Mosley. Don't let his bulky body fool you. Berto is huge at WW.

He has kind of a thick build for a man his height. he looked considerably bigger than Urango who is a true lt ww to me when they fought.

Well he just beat an "elite" WW in Cotto so that makes him a legit WW. A lot of people said if he beats Cotto(he dominated him at that) that he is a legit WW.

you do know that he started his career at 160. In his fight against robinson I really didn't see any fat..he was just bulkier. 147 is about as low as Berto can get and anything under is just setting himself up to get worked by a top guys at 140.

He can't make 140 safely. Like someone said, he started his career at middleweight and even at 147 he looks bulky.
