147 isn't the right division for Andre Berto

I think Berto could improve his status and also his bank account by running the 140lb division. Right now all the stars are at 147 but if he dominated 140 he could become a star. I was rewatching the Collazo bout and Berto is a short guy for the division. Instead of being a small guy at 147 why not drop and be a big guy at 140. Him and Bradley could own that division for years. At 147 Berto can beat an old Shane but will eventually run into a bigger man.

Have you seen how big he gets inbetween fights? No way he'd realistically get to 140lbs.

Not if he beats Shane and gets a May/Pac fight

I seen the pictures against Shane and yeah he gets fat. With a little discipline he could make 140 and I think it's a must. 147 is a hot division but if Andre wants to be a superstar he needs to drop. Stay at 147 he will suffer defeats in the future.

Berto should be able to get down to 140 but because he blows up, not gonna happen.

I dunno man. We got lots of money in the welterweight division and one or two losses aren't going to end his career.

Even the main money men at 140lbs (Bradley and Khan) will probably be open to fight at 147lbs soon enough.

If he gets to 140 he'll be faster and move way better than in 147.

People don't understand how much dropping 7 pounds to a lower weight class really requires.

If Berto could make it there comfortably........he would be there.

Berto turned pro at 160, and moved down. He is now where he can be his lightest and most comfortable.

                    147 is where he belongs.
