Comments Thread For: David Tua Set To Fight Five Times in 2010

David Tua's promoter Cedric Kushner is confident the heavyweight boxer will fight five fights next year, despite cancelling his first bout in February just days after announcing it.

Tua announed last week he was to fight the former WBA champion, Bruce Seldon, in the United States before fighting Nigeria Friday Ahunanya in New Zealand at the end of March.

But the Seldon fight's been cancelled by Tua, because of family reasons which Kushner says made Tua reluctant to head to the United States after Christmas to train.

Kushner's still optmistic Tua will still get a title fight next year despite Britain's WBA champion David Haye, WBC champion Vladimir Klitschko and his IBF, WBO and IBO champion brother Vitali already being committed to bouts.

However Kushner says there will be greater options in the second half of the year.

Cool but Tua will be avoided by the top fighters where possible. He will need to become mandatory to get a title fight.

Hopefully he gets a fight with Arreola, that would put him back in contention and would raise his profile back up as it would be on HBO.

There really aint much else around to fight in the HW division today. From the TOP on down it is lined with no bodies and has beens. At least Tua is exciting to watch. I he can keep himself in shape and active he can make himself releviant in the division. Possible fight with Arreola and guys like Thompson or Chambers would put him on the list for a title shot. I do not think HBO will place Arreola in there with TUA unless he can bring something to the table. Arreola right now is the only hope for HW boxing on HBO...,.Lefty

Good **** regardless of the opponents Tua is putting in work and that is a good thing for him seeing as he was inactive for awhile before Cameron.

David Tua in my opinion is the reason why i still have hope left for the heavy weight division.
